Re: Why I Bought an SLE over a GXP.
All of the bonneville motor options start to feel slow after awhile IMO. I still however think they're great cars and fun to tinker and play around with.

That's a great buy for $100 even if you end having to go through it a bit.

Re: What did you do to your car today?
But you seemed surprised that you were adding extra oil on a new engine... German or not.
Not so much. Just a little drama and sarcasm added for amusement with the hope that it wouldn't turn to bickering with strangers on the internet, because I figure that people won't throw a fit over things ...

Re: What did you do to your car today?
New engines CAN use extra oil during break-in. That's actually not uncommon.
Now if you're pouring in quart after quart, that's a problem, but a little between oil changes on a fresh engine isn't unheard of.
Every internal combustion engine on the planet consumes oil. Just a fact. It's the nature ...

The LeSabre replacement/A6 v8
I suppose it's about time that I finally make this. This is what I bought to replace the LeSabre after it was crashed. 2000 Audi A6 V8 Quattro. Ming blue with the cold weather package(heated everything pretty much). So far I've deleted the resonators and have done a transmission and an engine tune ...

Yes, sir. No worries about that for me.spoiledred94 wrote:devin1986 wrote:I added oil, because... apparently that's a thing you need to do with German cars even if they have brand new motors.
Have you checked the dipstick? Don/t overfill. You could do some damage otherwise

My Buick was fantastic in snow, as was my 2000 turbo beetle. Those have been my best winter driving two wheel drive cars.

Re: Another h-body down
I'm ok. The others guys insurance called me today and said they'll send me another check for $400 because of mental trauma from the crash, but really they're just hoping I won't sue them because the other driver was given a ticket for gross negligent driving. Honestly, I wouldn't sue anyways, but I ...

I don't know why they killed off a lot of those models. The LeSabre was the best selling full size car for a long time, and I know they sold a ton of bonnies.

Man, thats sucks, my Olds almost bit it a couple weeks ago too. Glad you're okay, and at least your Buick will live on in the COTM archives!
Hell yeah, I'd shoot foe the Audi as COTM, but that's so far from an h-body. Immediate plans are exhaust and a.tune. Stock they dyno about 240whp. I think I ...

Sorry to see the crash Devin. I wish I could have seen the Fishboat.
Also, Lane, the trans was already rebuilt. I think Devin's got the right connections for the car, and I know he got a good deal.

Yeah, the blown motor was from a previous owners neglect.
