Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

Most love affairs end sooner or later. The lady and I have finally parted ways. She's known it was coming for several months in spite of my trying to keep it a secret. Just a few days ago she went flat line on her blower motor and got in a last dig before going out of my life forever. She still ...

Re: Just Bought 2005 Bonne GXP: Need Advice

Back to Black or similar type of product doesn't work on the window trim?

Yes, maybe it does. The jury is out until it is washed a time or two but I used the B to B cleaner and the B to B restorer today on my GXP window trim and it made a significant improvement. Ten years of Florida sun and UV ...

Re: Wheel bearing or ball joint?

Its been raining the last few days non-stop, went to get the jack out of the trunk since I have no access to tools during the week…the carpeting was soaking wet. SO now I gotta figure out what the f*ck that is, oh joy! I already pulled the rubber plugs a long time ago, the clips for the center ...

Yes, a 12 power source.

The bulbs are 5x11mm.

Like I said in the original post, 2174 bulbs are the closest I found, but I'm not sure if they are the right brightness level.

I know this thread is old but here is an update on a source for the display lamps.

I did a radio repair today on my ...

Re: Alternator?

My 2005 GXP experienced these same symptoms a few weeks ago with the additional indication on the DIC of "entering battery saver mode". It was diagnosed at a GM dealer as a bad alternator. The dealer recommended a Delco alternator, which they did not have in stock, at an ungodly price. The local ...

Re: Your Bonneville Experience

Interestingly enough, going down the 1/4 mile I was able to run an identical 60-foot time in the GXP as I did with the '95 SSEi low end torque monster (2.2 seconds). :dontknow:

I traded in a 2002 SSEi for my 2005 GXP. This is purely subjective from driving both but I have always thought the SSEi ...

Re: Cowl cover on GXP

To avoid struggling and frustration you will need the puller to remove the wiper arms.
The aluminum wiper arm and the steel shaft are dissimilar metals in contact and will corrode and bond together over time.
Make it easy and have the puller available when you start this project.

You will be glad ...

Re: Cowl cover on GXP

I had mine off for better access while chasing a body water leak. Removal is pretty straightforward. You will need a substantial two-jawed puller to remove the wipers. After ruining a cheap puller I bought a set of thee from Harbor Freight (Pittsburgh item 40966). A little penetrating oil on the ...

Re: GXP rotors

I just went to the garage and checked some old drilled and slotted rotors from the front of my '05 GXP. They have three countersunk holes between the holes for the lugs. Two of the holes are on each side of one lug opening, the third is opposite and the spacing forms a triangle. Sounds like you are ...

Re: P0171 & P0174

Codes are gone. I can't say all that I did wasn't a help in resolving the codes but I am leaning toward the FPR.

Have them check the intake coupling (boot between TB and intake manifold) because this is a common issue with the N* as well.

The GXP got it's 75K service on 03/28.

Here is the ...

Are you still free of the P0171 and P0174 codes?

I have had these for a while. The GXP is going in for its 75K service soon and I think I might have the FPR checked while it is there.

Re: Air conditioner A/C intermittment on off automatic hvac

I notice that my a/c has begun to cycle between on and off. I have the automatic heating and cooling. Hitting the a/c button does not override the a/c being in the Off position. I started noticing that it's now more in the OFF position than the ON position.

Is there a leak of refrigerant and the ...
