Installed a new switch and so far the light has stayed on and the car starts 10/10 times. Problem solved. Its really nice having all this information available. Thanks guys! (and girls if any of course)

Ok the dealership just confirmed my suspicions. According to the dealership- if the car does not recieve a signal indicating what gear the car is in, the dash gear indicator will go out and the car will not start.


I should probly msg harofreak and tell him he was wrong about the dash light ...

never used the restore, but I have always been a fan of Lucas motor oil stabilizer... a big fan. I can talk about how much I like it and why but the best thing is to try it and see if you like it for yourself.

ok after searching some threads I came accross a nifty wiring diagram of the park neutral switch- which should be called the gear indicating switch since it in fact tells your dash what gear you are in.
