I miss my Bonneville everyday
Wow what a loss it's been without my 01 SSEI. Don't get me wrong I am happy to have my legacy. U

Re: Thank God Everybody Is Alright
$100/mo on time every time in full for 4 years. Comes out to just over $1000 more I paid than they paid. I would think it would be in their best interest to keep taking my payments. One insurance claim wreck in almost 25 years (with other ins companies). I do agree about not posting all secrets on ...

Re: Thank God Everybody Is Alright
I like that plan. We would save a thousand in a year. And add the around 3k from the sale of the Subaru and Bing we'll have enough to buy a solid Bonneville.
I know the Bonnevilles pretty well. More so than Japanese car. Also it's much safer and comfortable. Driving a Honda Civic was cramped and ...

Re: Thank God Everybody Is Alright
What about in a year? I'm not likely to have 4k in a year. I borrowed my friends car to get to work and I am very sad looking for Betty and she is not coming back another bonneville would fix that. 1 year to get 4k? Hope so.

Re: Thank God Everybody Is Alright
But then a 05 Bonneville in 2018 would be 13 years old. I don't think we can afford a car that old unless she was a real find. Kinda sad. But those v8 bonnies are to die for.

Re: Thank God Everybody Is Alright
Your notification that your post came in at exactly the same time as the call from the insurance adjuster... He's paying $3,100 adjusted value minus the deductible to 2616.91. I prefer another Bonneville obviously but I don't think it's in my price range of 2600. And the other car would essentially ...

Thank God Everybody Is Alright
I rear ended a 530 I. The ins is looking into it now. I have been offered a Subaru for a token price but it might be awhile. There are newer and better Bonnie's out there just barely in our price range. I think I know bonnies well Yet the Subaru Legacy is 02 with 55k and well maintained. IDK if ...

Re: ATF
I did some work on my neighbors old aerostar. So I can only imagine the frustrating as hell efforts it would take with a V8 in an Astro. The worse case of wtf-why is it put together like that is the motor mount blocking access to the w. pump on my 94 If they would have put just this one bolt an inch ...

Re: ATF
The atf cooler sounds like an idea. I could do both the cooler and another fluid filter change. Are you suggesting that I leave a couple qts of the old dirty fluid in there and put new fluid in on top? I neglected to put in a drain plug in the drip pan the last couple ATF changes. So I'll have to ...

I guess I'm am not experienced enough to say which cars are easy to work on and which aren't. I have worked on few cars but nothing major until my Bonnevilles.

Re: ATF
I take it that it was a very good price?. Kbb said my O1 was $35K new and worth $5000 in 2012. These are really nice cars. All the extras, easy to work on, dependable pretty fast and cheap to insure. I'm disappointed there are no new ones.

I always use a couple bottles. How much can I use max? It DOES make a difference in my experience.
Thanks Carl. You guys are raising my hopes. All my sources are pretty much gone. Right now if the Trans goes out I can't replace it.

Hey thanks for the suggestion I'll give it another shot. It didn't do this on my first ATF change. It's a good plan. I hope it works with the first change at $60 a pop

Re: 2005 SE 4T65E question/suggestions?
My 01 has the hesitation / slip going into second and into third. Changing the ATF using two bottles of Lucas stop slip made a big difference. I noticed when I drove it cold the slipping was mostly nonexistent. 15 min later the slip was very evident. I hope to install a ATF cooler. I think what is ...

I changed my transmission fluid and like a week later it was brown and murky with sediment in it already. it was dirtier than the fluid I changed out that had been there for a year. Transmission slips. It always has. When I got the car it slipped The first change improved the performance a lot. Not ...

Re: Remote Starter causes unwanted honks
I figured it out. It was the alarm honking. You disarm the alarm before you start it remotely. I think the remote starter boot up triggers the alarm.
