I personally only told 3 people but if they told other people I wouldn't know about it

Re: Thick white smoke on first start up after sitting overni

I'm not really sure how to describe it, it's been probably 10 years since I had to smell it lol. It's definitely a weird smell compared to coolant or oil.
When my car did do it though the smoke was white like you're describing and thick enough to smoke out most of the parking lot

You could ...

Re: Thick white smoke on first start up after sitting overni

I'm betting it's your vacuum modulator on your transmission. Mine leaked on my 94 and did pretty much exactly what you're describing.

It seeps trans fluid into the vacuum line and the engine burns it on first start up. It's a pretty cheap fix if that's what it is.

Re: 2018 MI Fall mini-meet

No preference on campsites myself. There's no way I'm not driving across that bridge though so the toll is going to happen either way for me.

The Grand Prix should be the car I take for this. It's getting rear discs right now and a 3.73 rear end that'll be in it by the time this happens. Just need ...

I think to plan for fall colors we would want to shoot for the middle of October.

Re: 2018 MI Fall mini-meet

Yeah that's the other question if we do decide to camp.

Do we plan a Friday -> Saturday drive? That would mean some people could come back for shenanigans on Saturday night.

If we plan a Saturday -> Sunday drive that would mean shenanigans on Friday night and most people would likely part ways ...

Re: 2018 MI Fall mini-meet

I think one of the biggest magic tricks we'd have to do is plan to do this exactly when the trees have changed. That's something that's going to be pretty unpredictable.

Re: 2018 MI Fall mini-meet

Going up north and back down would be quite the drive for one day I think. Any thoughts on hitting a campground for the night while we're up there?

Re: 2018 MI meet photos

So, I got really sick once I got back home. I'm at work now, fighting head congestion, but I might be able to get what's on my phone uploaded today. Left my SD card at home (although I didn't use my camera much this time), so I'll do half today and possibly the other half tomorrow.

Might have a ...

Re: Super Duper Project Hauler Project

I was able to get the axles bolted on yesterday and start on some of the paint work.

Backing plates installed, bearings packed, drums bolted in.

Re: Super Duper Project Hauler Project

Those are all great points.

It has been quite a bit of work, but the way I see it I'll have a pretty stout trailer once this is all finished. I got a really good deal on it initially since the previous owner knew it needed a lot done to it. I kind of enjoy cutting and welding metal too so I thought ...

Re: Super Duper Project Hauler Project

The trailer was assembled in the 80's by who knows who. The trailer itself was put together pretty well, though it did seem like the frame rails were made of pretty thin metal for what the guy was trying to haul with it.
Apparently the first owner used this thing to haul a backhoe! Years of rust and ...

Super Duper Project Hauler Project

Feel free to move this to lounge if it belongs there. If not I'll be a post-whore here.

So I finally bought a trailer recently to haul projects around on. I have rented a uhaul car trailer so many times that I decided that this needed to happen.

Re: Cadillac converter

My Regal and GP don't have cats and honestly I don't think I've ever noticed an odd smell of any sort. On the contrary I've more often noticed a smell with cars that do have cats such as my truck or my old regal. It's not an unpleasant smell or anything though, just something I never notice when I ...

Re: 96 vs 97 PCM?

I would let ZZP know about the issues you're having. The 97 PCM should work fine with a 4t60e, there must be something in the tune that it doesn't like though.

Re: 96 vs 97 PCM?

I looked through my notes again to double check since that didn't sound right at all. Looks like I had the 96/97 swap mixed with the 97/98 swap.

96/97's are very similar if not the same.
98-02's are completely different from the 97/96's.

I'd be interested in hearing if the TCC works properly ...
