Anybody live near Mt Vernon, Washington?
I'm about 3 weeks away from my move, so I'm starting to look for cars in that area. I found this oneand wanted to know if there was anybody who can drive out take a look at this car for me.

Tacoma Actually. I've got friends there. About an hour south of Seattle.
They have rally racing there. Real in-the-woods up-the-mountain rally racing.

Re: The AClockworkGarage.com Race car build thread.
It's still early, but I could be on the west coast in as little as 6 weeks. The current best plan is relocating this motor to Don's red '95 and scraping the shell. Watch this space for updates.

Re: The AClockworkGarage.com Race car build thread.
Project is currently on hold as I may be moving cross country. If this happens it will either be sold as-is to somebody who would like to finish the project, or the motor transferred to Don's '95 and the shell scrapped. Not really thrilled about abandoning this but the opportunity in the PNW is too ...

Re: The AClockworkGarage.com Race car build thread.
We did consider using the polys like matt did there, but we were mid-install and my drill press is not at the same shop as the car. We slapped the mount on and finished the job we were about.

Re: The AClockworkGarage.com Race car build thread.
Weather and wealth have conspired to keep us from the car, but I've made another trip to try and get what we can do done. We edge ever closer to firing the motor but we are not there yet.

Re: The AClockworkGarage.com Race car build thread.
Not a huge update but there was a small amount of progress today... I took a trip to LKQ and scored a W-body trans dipstick for the headers.
Monday i'll be headed back to the car to chase off some bees and hopefully get her running. (i seriously doubt she'll be running on monday.)

Re: The AClockworkGarage.com Race car build thread.
The trick right now is figuring out how much we've actually spent... which could be anywhere between $700 and $1800 depending on how we tally the numbers... does the parts car count against the budget? if we sell the parts car's leftovers does that money go back into the budget? How much does a free ...

Re: The AClockworkGarage.com Race car build thread.
Well guys... It's been a long time with no updates. That's the problem with shoestring budget cars... sometimes the shoestring breaks. The Le Sabre has been giving me fits with a phantom brake issue I just can't pin down and until that's fixed the ACG car will have to wait.
That being said the ...

Re: The AClockworkGarage.com Race car build thread.
A little late on the update but yesterday was a big day. got started early, before the sun began to cook us and got some of the last minute things knocked out. installed the EGR tube to the manifold, rand some wires, pulled the headers off, installed the TA mount, all that nonsense. and withing the ...

Re: The AClockworkGarage.com Race car build thread.
The 'Sabre wheels are just rollers. It's got a set of five spokes I'm refinishing in bronze, unless I find a set of the twisted mesh Grand Prix wheels, or 17 inch Buick wheels.

Re: The AClockworkGarage.com Race car build thread.
Wasn't able to make it out last weekend because I had a big project in my personal shop. Money is never wasted on shop infrastructure. a few new benches and I've got both of my machines in one place. Nice.

Re: anyone done this..
We've decided to drop the motor in the ACG car and run it once in full street trim, then do the weight reduction and run it again. Unfortunately the stock motor in the car was toast, so it won't have a stock baseline.

Re: The AClockworkGarage.com Race car build thread.
With Saturday so far away, yet looming quickly I sat down to do the last bit of wire harness. The smaller harness that feeds into the ICM. I started with this oily dry rotted crappy mess:
