Re: 2002 SSEi rough idle / fuel pressure loss
I'm assuming the check valve is in the pump body itself? Since the pump was just replaced and it didn't fix the problem, I'm going to think that the pump is probably not the issue. There is a chance it could be I guess, I have bought new products that were defective before. Since I don't see any ...

Re: Any Hockey Puck Breakthroughs?
I imagine gravity is the thought process. If the nut comes off somehow, where's the bolt gonna go if it's put in from the bottom? And once the bolt is gone, what's gonna happen to the rest of the parts? Went through a similar discussion with control arm bolts on my Mystique.

Re: 2002 SSEi rough idle / fuel pressure loss
Plugs and wires were new as of last year. I think I went with the NGK's, I know I went with the Belden wires. Did the lower intake manifold gaskets last year plus all the gaskets above that. Fuel filter was replaced last year as well. Hadn't gotten to looking real seriously for vac leaks yet. Looked ...

2002 SSEi rough idle / fuel pressure loss
Good morning all. Well the wife's Bonnie is having a bit of issue I was hoping you all might have some input on. A couple weeks back I got in it to move it across the street and when I started it up it was running real rough, seemed to be missing and the SES light was on. Asked the wife how long it ...

Re: How many O2 sensors...
Good to know on the rear one. I won't worry about it. Yeah I noticed there seems to be a lot of bad blood between our cars and Bosch stuff. I'll be going with the denso on the O2 sensor. Thanks

Re: How many O2 sensors...
Great. Thanks. I would've just popped the hood and checked but wife has the car and I'm trying to get all parts I need ordered so they're here by this weeked. She's gonna be gone for a week and change so I've got lots of wrenching to do on all three of our cars.

Re: How many O2 sensors...
So then there are 2 sensors pre-cat, one for each bank? If so are they identical? I had to have my cat changed out last year, ended up changing out the entire exhaust system, thank you federally mandated 8 year, 80,000 mile warranty!! Think the post cat is still OK?

How many O2 sensors...
Are on the Bonneville? I was thinking 3 but I'm not sure now. RockAuto has two different Denso O2 sensors listed (2344018) is labeled front and (2344087) is labeled rear. Looking at the pictures, it looks like they have different connectors. Is the one labeled front for the ones pre-cat and the one ...

Again if you can find them, 885's are 50 watt with a straight connector. My mercury used the 899's and by upgrading to the 885's i was able to see a significant difference. I've run the 885's in the bonneville and had no problem with the wiring but they did discolor the inside of the lense in the ...

Re: Baked on Brake Dust
It never ceases to amaze me the junk I can clean with simple green. It took the light brown crud off just spraying it on and very minor scrubbing. The junk in the corners it took off pretty good as well, little more elbow grease required along with a couple of different sponges, mitts and brushes ...

Re: Baked on Brake Dust
The magic eraser we have is labeled "extra power" not sure if there is a magic eraser "standard power" but this one says not recommended for vehicle body. Granted I don't plan to use it on the vehicle body, but the wheels I have to do tomorrow are painted wheels. Think this is OK? Probably just have ...

Re: Baked on Brake Dust
Magic Eraser huh? I think I've got one of those under my sink. Will have to give that a shot tomorrow. Did a search on here for wheel cleaners and came up with Simple Green. Again something I have in my garage that I didn't think of using (probably because my ex-boss used that stuff to strip paint ...

Baked on Brake Dust
After a long winter of utilizing automatic car washes, I've finally got the time and location to start washing my car myself again. But now I've got some nasty brown baked on brake dust in the corners of my wheels. My normal arsenal of automotive cleaners is proving less than effective against this ...

Re: How low can I go...
I wish my wife was that in tune with the noises her car makes. Would make my life easier. Nothing like getting in, firing it up, hearing an unusual racket, asking her how long it's been doing that and/or making that noise and getting the deer in the headlights look along with the "I dunno, a while ...

Re: Time for some midlife TLC
Yeah new mounts all around, new bearings and spring seats on the front as well. If I've got something that far apart, I figure I might as well replace what I can and possibly save myself from having to do it all over again sometime in the future just cause I wanted to save a couple bucks. I've had ...

A PCM tune isn't in the works for this go around but it might be sometime in the future...just gotta figure out how to explain to the wife she can't have the car for a week or so while it's out...and try and convince her it's routine maintenance :bsnicker: I've seen mention in a couple of posts ...

Re: Time for some midlife TLC
That's what was missing from the list. I had the bonnie in the shop for a new tranny PCS and I thought they'd do the filter and fluid change but when I went to pick it up they told me they did their tranny flush procedure and that doesn't require dropping the trans pan so they felt no need to change ...

Re: How low can I go...
Thanks for the info, I've got the 180 thermostat for it but I'll probably just leave the stock airbox with the K&N in it. Any recomendations which is the better choice in the modular pulley arena? I looked at the ones on the ZZP site and I've also checked over the ones on 3800 performance. Are there ...

Time for some midlife TLC
Good evening all. I've been lurking around for a while on the site, finding some good info on the few problems we've had with my wife's bonnie. Now as it's nearing midlife, it's time for a little...OK maybe a bit more than a little...time in the shop (our garage). I've got the following on the books ...

How low can I go...
with a supercharger pulley on a stock 2002 Bonneville SSEi? The wife's bonnie is going in the shop (read garage) for some midlife TLC. It's been a relatively problem free car for its duration with us but it's definately lost some zip. So in addition to some suspension work, general tune up, manifold ...
