Re: Bonneville Center Reflector Disassembly/Restoration
Ended up not needing to cut it open from the back to clean the gunk behind the red reflectors. Used 2 flathead screwdrivers to lift the top part of the reflectors up just enough to get behind them. Scrubbed them clean by bending one of the spiral brushes I use to clean my spray gun with at an angle ...

Re: Bonneville Center Reflector Disassembly/Restoration
These are pressed together and opening them up will likely destroy them.
The best "restoration" I've seen is someone taping off the black lines on a non GXP set and spraying on a coat of black to make all the lines black again. But this is a really tough way to do that as well.
Wonderful. So ...

Bonneville Center Reflector Disassembly/Restoration
Has anyone ever tried opening up on of these? My GXP center reflector is delaminated and cracked in several spots pretty bad. Water fills it up when it rains and it doesn’t drain out. I’d like to open mine up to clean it. Anyone know how to open one up? Also toying with the ideas of maybe using a ...

Security light won’t go out after key forward for 10 minutes. Did it 3 times for 30 minutes, still no start.

You can tune out the security, but no simple bypass like the VATS. Have you tried a 30-minute security relearn?
Here are the instructions from the service manual:

00 SSEi No Crank, No Start. How To Do PK3 Bypass?
My 2000 SSEI is now having a no crank no start problem. Was working great the last couple of months without a hitch. Today I decided to change out my oil pressure sensor and write a revised tune from ZZP so I can do some data recording and the car wouldn’t start after that. Now 7 hours later and it ...

You're not kidding. They came out great.

Re: Restart: Project L67 w/ Pics
While I did the lines, I replaced the calipers and pads since 3 of the 4 calipers were rusted and seized to the brake rotors. Turned the rotors since they were still usable. Upgraded the front calipers using 98-02 Camaro twin piston units. Ceramic pads.

Now, on with the build!
Brake lines were rusted. Rusted enough that they fell off when touched.

Re: Coolant In Engine Oil, Gaskets New?
Well, found the leak. Timing cover and LIM gaskets were good. My rear main cover gasket was leaking. Seems the guy who rebuilt my engine didn’t scrap off all of the old gasket material when he put on the new gasket. Engine is back in and running, no leaks.

Coolant In Engine Oil, Gaskets New?
Just had my L67 engine rebuilt and put back in my 2000 SSEI. I filled the engine with 5W-30 engine oil and coolant, now I’m losing a full radiators worth of coolant in about an hour. Refilling the radiator gets me a slow steady drip of water out from my oil pan drain bolt. I’m lost. Timing cover and ...

Can anybody post some pics of their SSEI engine set up? I don’t remember where the wiring harness is supposed to route or where any of the black brackets on the engine go and how they mount. I forgot after years of stalled progress. Also what wire goes to which terminal on the starter? The small one ...

Re: Restart: Project L67 w/ Pics
So after another year and a half, I finally got my engine back last Saturday. Also moved into a new house in a warmer area so a lot has happened since I last posted here. The weather here is more favorable to working on cars. So! Engine is back. Went through my storage units and pulled all of my ...
