Re: Starter is Doing Nothing
My joy was short lived....... . Went out this morning to top off fluids as I was going to loan the car to my brother-in-law and once I topped off the fluids, I went to start it and..........nothing. *dang*. Re-checked the battery ground cable under the seat. No luck. Opened the under hood fuse ...

Re: Starter is Doing Nothing
Well.................I don't know if the Bonneville gave in or I won, but this morning I went out and cleaned all the battery/power cable contacts/connections and pulled the bolt out of the ground cable from the battery to the floor and scraped all the paint off around where the cable contacts the ...

Re: Starter is Doing Nothing
Andrew has a switch but I am going to check all the grounds first and he also mentioned checking a starter relay which I assume is identified in the owners manual fuse box diagrams?

Re: Starter is Doing Nothing
Well...................anybody in the Frederick, Md. area interested in an 05 GXP??
I am about to give up on this thing. New starter is in and still nothing, not a click, a crank or any sound at the starter. I checked voltage at the starter before install and it had 12+ volts, so there has to be ...

Re: Starter is Doing Nothing
Well.............new battery in and same results, no start, no click................guess it's plenum removal time.....again. :banghead:
Old starter out, found source of possible vacuum leak from last time. The tube that comes out from under the plenum has a spring type hose clamp on it that ...

Re: Starter is Doing Nothing
I think it checks the cell life and a few other things. Got a new battery (800 CCA) but it was pouring the rain when I got home so it'll be tomorrow before I get it in.
What's the chances that when I tried to start it the other day and it just clicked once, that the solenoid gear is stuck in the ...

Re: Starter is Doing Nothing
The tester was attached for about 4 minutes I guess. I brought it home and put it back in the car and attached a car with a battery that's only 3 months old and has 640 CCA and the starter still did nothing, not even a click. Since the battery is 'marginal' I guess I will get a new one and then go ...

Re: Starter is Doing Nothing
Took battery down to get tested and it has 648 CCA, battery specs. are 770. I understand the amps thing but even if it has 648, shouldn't the starter even make a click like it's even trying to work? I am going to try and use jumper cables to see if it will start with them attached and I'd assume ...

Re: Starter is Doing Nothing
Charged all day, had 12.58 volts when I took charger off of it and still, no click. Should I try hooking up jumper cables to battery and trying that to get it to start? I guess if battery still has 12.58 volts in morning, I'll pull the battery and take it to be tested. Used to be in the old days if ...

Re: Starter is Doing Nothing
I hate this friggin car.. Have been driving the car on and off and a few days ago I moved the car around in front of the house and went out 2 days later and it won't start. I think the starter may have clicked, but didn't crank. Today I put the battery charger on it and just went out to start ...

Re: Ignition Off, Radio ON (Module or senors?)
If you remove the RAP relay, will this have any other effect on the car other than certain accessories running until a door opens or the timer shuts it off? Will it screw with the computer or throw codes?

Parasitic Battery Drain?
Another new problem. Not sure if I have a bad battery or there is something drawing the battery down. Not the first time it has happened, so I'm kind of hoping it's the battery and not something sucking the juice out of it. Some times the battery works fine for weeks on end, then occasionally the ...

I was just being sarcastic I suppose. It just seems strange that they would use a spring instead of a snap on type end.

Re: Fixed 1 Problem and Now I have a Shi$ Storm of Codes App
Well, good news. Replaced the coil unit and it's now running on all 8 again!! Hoo-rah. No codes have re-appeared again (yet) so we'll just wait and see what happens next............

Sunroof Drain Hoses
I have read most of, if not all the sunroof posts but have a few year specific questions that other posts didn't seem to answer.
I assume most of the leaks are caused by the plastic drain tubes coming disconnected from the rubber drain lines, that being said, on the 2005, where are the drain lines ...

Re: Fixed 1 Problem and Now I have a Shi$ Storm of Codes App
That's what I'm going to do. Got it out and am replacing the spark plug while it's out and will move it to a front side cylinder. Here's hoping...........
UPDATE: Put back together and started it up. Could tell it was still mis-firing so I pulled the connector for the #3 cylinder fuel injector and ...

Re: Fixed 1 Problem and Now I have a Shi$ Storm of Codes App
It seems to be mis-firing all the time right now at all RPM's. I assume that the secondary AIR thing can just be unbloted and moved slightly out of the way to get to #3 plug without damaging it. (It has a ribbed metal pipe that runs out the bottom of it?) On the question of the coil, is there a ...

Re: Fixed 1 Problem and Now I have a Shi$ Storm of Codes App
Spent about 20 minutes searching for air leaks using brakleen around all hoses and connections and the intake plenum and did not find any leaks. The small PCV system elbow off the front end of the plenum appears to have been replaced already and showed no sings of sucking the brakleen into it. Since ...
