Re: Yet more problems with my GXP. MAP sensor location
I don't know what a fair price is for it. It has almost 178k on it. The body and paint are great. Great interior, HVAC blows cold, every switch and power windows and the HUD work perfectly. It's Cosmos Silver. Find me on Facebook, I'm Jeff Burns. I have the Thunderbirds F-16's lined up as my avatar ...

Yet more problems with my GXP. MAP sensor location
Replaced #1 cylinder coil and spark plug 2 weeks ago. Now 3 more problems have cropped up. 1. MAP sensor code 2. EGR code 3. Secondary Air Valve code. Where is the MAP sensor located? From what I've read, it's either under the intake manifold, or on the firewall, anybody know? I have $1,000 to go ...

Re: Possible Secondary air valve failure
It was DEFINITELY something else!!! The #1 spark plug somehow backed out, and my coil was fried!!! Just put 4 new rear coils, and 8 new Autolite spark plugs in, at this time last year. I'll keep an eye on the spark and make sure it's still tight periodically.

Possible Secondary air valve failure
I was driving into work yesterday, my GXP was running fine. It has thrown a secondary air valve trouble code a few times, setting off my SES light on the dash. Then the light would go out after a day or 2. Got to the Shell station to get my morning coffee, and it starts missing. The more gas I gave ...

Re: Keeping my headlights looking new
Thanks for the responses guys. I'm 99% sure the inside of the lenses are ok. When I polish them, they look brand new, except for some tiny pixilation in the outside lens. Which is to be expected.

Keeping my headlights looking new
When I got my GXP my headlights were really fogged over very badly. I bought the Turtle Wax kit, used it as instructed on the box, and they turned out great!! But it didn't last. I used the same kit a few months later, they looked great, but about a month and 1/2- 2 months later, they started ...

Northstar Performance motor mount
Recently I was on Northstar Performance's site looking into a replacement motor mount. We all know the stock Northstar mount is a bad design. It's $189.00, and they have a lifetime warranty. It looks pretty rugged. Has anybody installed these on their GXP's? The book time for installation is 4.5 ...

Re: Clunking noise in steering column
The mileage is 168,000 miles. The tie rods, and ball joints are all ok. I had a feeling it was the intermediate shaft. My 2000 Grand Prix GTP had a similar sound, but not as audible as this GXP's. Thanks guys.

Re: GXP replacement wheels
Thanks for the replies. As for me having my wheels being sent off, that's a no go. This is my daily driver, and only car.

Clunking noise in steering column
My 2005 GXP has a 'clunking' sound in what seems to be the top of the steering column. I just spent $2,200.00 on new front struts, 2 front top strut mounts, 2 front wheel hub bearings, 4 new Firestone Indy 500 tires and a 4 wheel alignment. This past spring I put a water pump in it (pretty easy ...

GXP replacement wheels
I'll be looking to replace my GXP's wheels in the near future. My car's 2 previous owners were women, and I think they scraped every curb where this car once resided. I have deep scratches in the paint, and some nice gouges on the spokes on every wheel. Tire Rack has some good looking wheels at some ...

Mine has 168k on it. No head gasket problems whatsoever.
