I think I've always known that GM parts were plentiful and easy to come by, but that was if you had a Camaro, Corvette, or similar. I wasn't too sure with a Bonneville :) something not as common on the road. Especially a GXP - I may have to watch the local yards and start a small stash of GXP only ...

With the Pontiac nameplate gone, how difficult is it to still find OEM parts at a reasonable prices? Can I just stroll into my local GM dealer and find just about anything I may need? With the reputation of the Northstar, I may get to know the local GM parts guys

It will need tires in the spring, the AC compressor replaced and AC system checked and probably refilled, and the transmission slips from time to time. That may not be so bad - SSEI in GXP clothing I'd still want a nice exhaust note to go with it. In my experiences, it's hard to make a V6 sound good.

Stock for stock, the SC is faster than the V8 - 5.0 or 4.6. Plus you can one with a 5spd. But I think the V8 is more dependable. The SC has headgasket issues as well as breaking harmonic balancers. They are still fun cars though.
