Re: Looking to purchase a base G8

Thanks, I really haven't researched a lot on this car and wanted to know of any major issues before considering the purchase.

Looking to purchase a base G8

I was thinking of buying one for a little under 6 thousand with 153k miles on it. Is that a good deal for a base G8? I have been wanting one for awhile but didn't know much about them. It is also an 08, are there any major things I need to be concerned with? Thanks

Re: Pics of 24mm and 30mm offset wheels

18x9 may fit. When I was looking into 20x9 with an offset of 38-40 those would have slightly stuck out. Family member of mine ran 255\35\20 tires on his GXP and they stuck out a little. I have 245\40\20 and mine sit inside the fender.

You may have clearance issues if you go with a lower offset, so ...

Re: blinglights

I ran 55 watt h.i.d's and that melted the projector over a series of 5 months. So, I will bring the wattage down to 35. I wouldn't recommend running high wattage h3's unless you use the lamps sparingly.

Re: blinglights

Agreed. I was skeptical from the beginning, the driving lights are more likely to be legit for all other trims (the rounded lamps) I just had a difficult time believing they got the oval style 2004-2005 GXP and 2005 SLE completely accurate. Thanks a lot, I will just purchase another passenger side ...

Re: blinglights

RJolly87 I didn't even think about that aspect much. I know they are 55watt so they are way brighter than stock. I don't really like the blue tinted glass though, and they probably will be a serious pain to mount.

blinglights

I was looking to purchase a passenger side fog lamp for my 05 SLE, when I Googled for results the bling lights showed there was an direct application for the 04-05 GXP. I read the description and they claim to be an exact fit. Can anyone actually confirm this? There is a photo up of a GXP on the ...

Those are my favorite wheels actually, my 05 SLE came with chrome ones but I traded them for the silver 5 spokes. Good find and deal also.

wheel offset and recommended tire

So, I'm thinking about purchasing a new set of wheels because my old Sport edition kv5s have pretty much had it. Currently I have 245\40\20 for tires and the wheels I'm looking to purchase are 20x9 with an offset of +38.

So my questions are will that particular offset make the wheel less or more ...

Re: SLE Fog Light Issue

Its best to disassemble both fog lamps before doing anything. I actually duct taped the ballasts to the inside of the bumpers. Like Carl has stated, make sure you get the relay harness because mine do flicker without them. I however am satisfied because 1 I have H.I.D's as headlamps and 2 I hardly ...

Thanks, so I thought maybe the bulb moved up/down forward/backward. So, the reflector moves up and down.

headlamp question

I recently "adjusted" my headlights. My question is what does the adjustment do, aim the lights up or down forward or backward? It may seem like a silly question but, I never really understood how that actually worked.

Is this strange?

My doors automatically lock for some reason now. I noticed it yesterday when I left my car running and came back to get in it(Always keep a spare in my wallet) but yea, today I was just sitting in my car on the phone and my doors just locked themselves. My car was off and it probably happened ...

Re: extended aftermarket warranties?

Agreed. They gave me the run around for 3 days and then another 5 days to complete everything. Paperwork sending someone out to check the vehicles condition ect. They obviously didn't want to pay but they went ahead and got me in and out around week's time. I paid 50 dollars and they took care of ...

Re: extended aftermarket warranties?

My transmission, mass airflow sensor, and sway bars were all fixed or replaced with an extended warranty. I too was skeptical of warranties but, I'm glad I got it cause all those happened within 2 months of buying it. Oh and motor mount too.
