Still crusin'

Been busy I guess. Data says last visit was July 29, 2014! Well, I'm still crusin' in my 2003 SSEi dream car that I bought online sight unseen from Scotsdale and had shipped to FL. It was a cherry. Has a few minor body dings now but still a looker in the bronze metallic mist. Thought I'd say hello ...

memory lane 87 Bonnie problems

Hey, anyone out there remember the sudden catastrophic power loss problem of the mid 80's Bonnevilles? I would be cruzin down the highway at speed and suddenly.......total power loss! I'd pull over, wait a few minutes, then restart and it would be fine until the next time when without warning, one ...

Re: odorous smell

Have you checked the passenger/inside air filter? It is under the hood near the firewall. Maybe someone or something contaminated it. swampy

mystery steering vibration

:banghead: 2003 SSEi 71K: At low speeds, especially when backing or moving forward slowly, the steering wheel vibrates lightly and a rubbing sound lasting for just a second or two can be heard somewhere forward (sounds like under the hood but can't be sure)-seems to be on the left side. It is ...

Re: exhaust rattle

I had a similar problem, but on an older '87 or '92 (can't remember) but it was a shield protecting the body from heat from the cat I think or some part of the exhaust system. Seems like it got worse when hot. That may explain why you can't track it down. Not sure if it applys but worth a look ...

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a "clear bra"? Can it be taken on and off off easily or is it perm? swampy

swampy's cherry '03 SSEi

Originally I purchased an 87 Bonnie for a sales job. Got 32 mpg at 70mph with ac on hwy. Sold to brother at 140k and he drove it past 340k. Up graded to a white 92SSEi with the thumping BOSE system and HUD. Loved it and only sold when a mechanic ruined the engine on a service at 170k and changed ...

Re: SSEi tail light swap

Had identical car. Forced to sell when an incompetent mechanic ruined the engine and changed jobs. That BOSE audio system was awesome! Brings back memories....loved that car. Wanted another and just purchased a cherry 2003 ssei last August with only 58000 miles. Took that long to work myself into ...

Re: 2001 Pontiac SSEi issues

No experience with HUD but lots with control modules. Could be expensive. I do NOT recommend aftermarket controls. Had poor experience with those. Be sure to work with a reputable shop as this takes expertise to correct.

Re: car seat covers and/or bras

Thanks for all the response to my question. Good advice. I may get a bra for Lovebug season (May and Sept). Did not understand how seat covers would effect the airbag operation?

car seat covers and/or bras

:hail: :hail: What is a good reasonably priced seat cover for my 2003 ssei? How about a bra? Are they practical-useful-harmful?
