Re: L36 to L67 power train swap and VATS/Passlock BCM - PCM

You may be better off keeping the impala pcm and importing the drivetrain from an L67/HD trans vehicle. There may be enough differences in the areas of your concern that the Regal pcm is possibly not going to make the various other modules happy.

Hey there Bill Boost, I forgot I posted this ...

L36 to L67 power train swap and VATS/Passlock BCM - PCM data

I am no stranger to these GM anti-theft features, but there is an unknown presenting itself on my current project. I have a 2000 Impala LS (3800na) that is getting the engine, transmission, and PCM from a 2000 Buick Regal GS (3800sc). I need to know if the VATS/Passlock relearn procedure will work ...

This is an email recently sent to Dorman about the replacement UIM they offer...

"Hello!
I am contacting you about the Upper Intake Manifold Dorman manufactures as a replacement and upgrade to the OEM manifold for GM 3800 Series 2 engines. The new upper manifold was purchased as new from a long ...

Re: Random dimming of headlights and dash cluster...

The car is in pretty good condition, I inherited it by chance and the previous owner was elderly and drove it sporadically (meaning it would sit for weeks at a time). I've had it for about a year and a half to two years. In which ive replaced a lot of parts fixed a lot of the common problems and ...

Re: Random dimming of headlights and dash cluster...

Upon driving randomly the headlights will get very dim (never go off fully) at the same time the dash cluster will dim then within a second will be back. Strangely doesn't seem to affect the fogs or maybe I just don't notice. Never happens at highway speed just city driving, and the battery gauge ...

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Nothing much. I built a PassKey 2 bypass module, still on the project breadboard until my L67 swap is ready to crank and start. I dismantled the greasy under hood harness pin-by-pin and at every plug from the donor car. Then, I started on the Transmission range selector switch mods. It was a busy ...

Re: New GNX , Grand National

This T-Type was recently dyno'd at the Shelby shop at Las Vegas Speedway. The guys over there told the owner it is the most powerful V-6 they have ever had on their dyno. The reply to them was... "That's because you guys work on Fords!"

Re: DEX-COOL

I recently discovered the dex-cool.net site myself and wanted to share my thoughts on the subject. Some say DEX COOL is bad. Some say its not, like this quote I found in another forum..

"Here we go again....
THERE IS NOTHING INHERENTLY WRONG WITH DEXCOOL
The problem occurs when there is a failure ...

Re: Warm greetings to the tech guys out there from KCMO

As far as converting the range selector, I have never heard of anyone doing it.

Well then, I will know more about this once I finish the cleanup and pull the cover. I'll let you know what I discover.

One of the reasons I joined up here is due to the information that WillWren has posted. Is he ...

Re: Warm greetings to the tech guys out there from KCMO

You wouldn't get anything from GM either (through GMVIS), unless you have the VIN# of the car it came from. Stuff doesn't get tracked by part numbers, or any other tagging on the trans.

Carfax won't report anything other than it having had transmission work, but again, you would need the VIN# or ...

Re: Warm greetings to the tech guys out there from KCMO

Is there a way to access the service records on this tranny without paying for a car fax report? I would like to know the details of this unit, especially if it has been updated to take care of the TSBs. If so, would GM have installed a shift kit too?

I am doing a L67 power train swap. The old ...

Warm greetings to the tech guys out there from KCMO

I'm new to the forum, lots of great stuff here. I am seeking info on a transmission I pulled from a salvage yard. It's a 4t65e hd from a 2000 Buick Regal GS Supercharged. It has a Goodwrench Service Sticker attached that shows it is a "Service Replacement Transmission Assembly". It has another ...
