Oh boy!
I wanna hear any advice on this one!
my heap's a '92, but someone was telling me on another forum that it isn't so bad, and you can actually get at it without dismantling the dash. I sure hope so...the nights are starting to get a little chilly here in Philly.

Re: 92 SE Water Pump- a Cry for Help!
Well, I did it!
Thanks for the help. The breakthrough moment was realizing that I was not jacking the engine far enough...the top of the power steering pump was hitting the bar between the front struts before it was high enough to free that $%£%$! motor mount! What a pain! The pump itself was a ...

Re: 92 SE Water Pump- a Cry for Help!
Taking the long bolt out from them should uncouple them. Maybe they just need a good whack with a mallet?
Due to my previous experience with 'mature' GM cars, I figured that was probably the case, I just wanted some confirmation before I started randomly beating on*ahem*, I mean encouraging parts ...

Re: 92 SE Water Pump- a Cry for Help!
Okay, got all the bolts loose finally, BUT-
is there a sleeve or something that needs to be tapped out that joins the two halves of the mount together? I took the long bolt out of the mount, but the two halves (Now loose from the block and the frame, respectively) will not separate... drove myself ...

Re: 92 SE Water Pump- a Cry for Help!
Okay, I'm biting the bullet... three bolts on the motor mount go into the block, right? are they 18mm? If not, what size are they? I need to go get a socket. None of mine are big enough! :ack:
So the three come out, the mount comes loose from the block, and then should I remove the long bolt that ...

Re: 92 SE Water Pump- a Cry for Help!
Maybe it's different on series one, but i read that on my l36 i would have to remove the mount also... and i got it replaced fine without removing it.
See? This is where I get confused...
Any way of telling what engine I have or something that may shed some light on the subject?
Any pics or ...

92 SE Water Pump- a Cry for Help!
Hi folks,
Need some help with a water pump job on my '92 SE. Have the parts, have the silicone, now all I need to know is if I need to take out the motor mount to get the thing loose. Kinda looks like it does... and I have read in many places that you need to. I just don't know if mine is that sort ...
