Re: Tis a sad day, and I need some help

I'll look at it today, it has been losing coolant ever since my grandpa bought it off the lot. I just added about a half gallon to the radiator on sunday. Haven't looked at the oil yet to see if there is antifreeze in it.
I've never had this happen so I don't really know what to look for on how to ...

Tis a sad day, and I need some help

Well guys, I never thought the day would come, but the bonne died today. She will live again though!

Never had anything like this with this car. 1997 SE, coming home from work today, pull onto base and through the gate and she starts shaking, not like a misfire though. I wasn't sure whats up but I ...

Randomly shuts off

This problem just recently started, the first time, it turned off and back on real quick and all gauges went crazy. Then it stopped for a couple days but this morning, I started the car and before i was even out of the parking lot, it just shut off. I figured alright, put it in neutral and try to ...

Re: Slipping Transmission

Fluid was checked several times before and after filling on level surfaces. It does slip in all gears when making left hand turns and only left turns. The check engine light came on several days ago, and it threw a code for the evap system and they told me basically it has a small leak where the gas ...

Slipping Transmission

My transmission is starting to slip with I turn left, I've had this problem before, and it just needed fluid, so thats what I did this time, I've put about 1.5 quarts in it in the last 3 days and the fluid level is good and it still slips, any ideas on what could be the problem?

Tensioner pulley

I changed the waterpump on the car today, and was putting everything back together, and put the belt on and everything and the tensioner was working fine. I was able to get the belt on but it was a little off on the idler pulley, when I went to loosen the belt to adjust it on the pulley, the bolt ...

Center Console Mod

Has anyone taken the split bench seat in the 90s bonnevilles and put the center console in the car? I'm looking to do it and I was wondering how hard it is. I'm not going to be hooking up the shifter though, I will remove that and make it a storage space. Any ideas or tips?

power steering and AC

So two questions here..
1) I got my air conditioner compressor on my 97 SE replaced before I came to chicago last may, it worked for about 2 months then all the sudden just shut off. I messed with it and messed with it and the only way I got the compressor clutch to engage was by jumping one of the ...

Re: Coolant leak

So I ordered the power steering pump for my car, and I was out tearing the car apart so I can just throw it in and put it together when i get it, and mine has a reservoir on it, does this make a difference? The one I ordered doesn't have one

Re: Coolant leak

I'm above chicago in the naval base, and are there any special tools i'll need? Being on base, I just have the bare minimum sockets, screw drivers, hammers, pliers, saw, and dremel and thats about it.

And where should I get parts from? autozone(or just store) or junk yard?

Re: Coolant leak

Haven't had the UIM and LIM gaskets replaced. How hard are they to do?
In regards to the water pump, how hard is it to replace myself? Just got quoted for 600 for the water pump and I feel like that is way too much.

Also what about the power steering pump, the internal bearing is bad and the whole ...

Coolant leak

The bonne has been leaking antifreeze quite a bit lately. so much that I had to park it. and It looks like it rained infront of the car where the coolant leaked out. I went to see where it was leaking one day and by the belt, to the right of the coolant pump, it was steaming a bit and smelled like ...

Engine overheating and blowing cold air

So, as the bonne is warming up to normal running temp(right about 190) it will blow hot air from the heater, if I go and let her idle for a bit, say I run inside or just sit in the car for a bit because I don't wanna go to work yet, itll go up above 210 in temp but no more than 220 and start blowing ...

97 power steering

So the bonne started squeaking the other day, finally got the chance to look at it in the daylight today, and noticed that when the car is running, the power steering pump pulley wobbles a bit. which is more than likely the bearing and not the pulley, so I'm looking to replace the whole pump in ...
