Re: Any pics of a stock CD driver by itself?
I actually have a disc changer and I love it (save for the fact that it hates bumps and loves to skip, if anyone has thoughts on how to eliminate or just soften this, I'm all ears), but a lot of it just comes down to the convince of not having to pop my trunk t ok change/ add a new disc (ie, me ...

Re: Any pics of a stock CD driver by itself?
Yes, the actual mechanism is what I was asking about.
But after looking at Roadrunner's thread, I'm going to have to assume that my '05 is more like the '02 then the '00 style.
On top of that, my drive has a 14 pin connector, so it wouldn't match with either the '00 or the '02.
So probably not ...

Any pics of a stock CD driver by itself?
My current head unit doesn't recognize CDs when they're inserted, its always saying "check cd", even if it's brand new.
And then the other day it hit me that I happen to have a couple extra Pontiac head units lying around (GrandPrix and Firebird style), and I was wondering if its possible to swap ...

My assessment is going to sound familiar, but here it is any way.
My previous daily was a '98 GP GT coupe with the 3.8 N/A.
Awesome engine, and pretty easy to work on. I learned/taught myself quite a bit wrenching on in it. Obviously not quite the same as the supercharged version, but same basic ...

Nothing other than stock type replacements available. If you want to change anything, you'll need to do it custom. I used to do a lot of projector installs. If you need some help or advice, feel free to reach out.

Re: Drive belt replacement
Apologies for disappearing for over a month guys, between work and a new baby at home, life has been nuts.
I did finally get my belt on, some serious pressure on the tensioner was required to make it happen, but with some stretching it worked.
It was sourced from a parts store, because it's where ...

I'll go back and recheck the seating.
I did try to slip it over the smooth idler instead of trying to get over the P/S pulley lip, but that wasn't any better.
I just noticed that the routing I'm using from google, since it doesn't seem to be under my hood, is from an Aurora forum. It's still the ...

Drive belt replacement
Is there a trick to slipping this thing on?
I did it two years ago in a parts store parking lot, but for the life of me I can't recall doing anything special.
And I'm going nuts trying to figure out how I did it then, but can't get it done in my driveway...
The belt is 81.5", but with the tensioner ...

Jargarner, can you post some pics of those mats?
(crap, somehow I missed you saying you weren't sure how to post pics, thanks Andrew for posting the "how to")
I've been looking at Lloyd's mats, and I'd like to see how yours turned out.
Thanks

Crap, forgot to put in my first post that they are labeled camshaft cover... don't know if that helps.
And Crash, are you referring to the camshaft itself?
The only thing that was present in that area was the metal semi circle with its integrated seal, and a new one of those was included with the ...

So I'm replacing the front valve cover gasket on my '05.
I can account for the placement of every seal/gasket except these two small guys.

Cruncher, please post more pics!
It looks a litte different then what's shown in the brochure.
But then again there's almost nothing that pops up when you google that color.

Dark Blue Metallic GXP?
I recently saw this was an option color according to a brochure I saw online.
Has anyone actualy seen one in person, or even pictures?
I tried googling it to no avail.
