Update. I finally had the time to pull out the differential.

This is the ring gear inside of the transaxle. All of the teeth look perfect and nothing was cracked.

Re: cv axle maybe...
So if I switch to a differential and it has a higher ratio like a 2.93 and my car has a 2.86 ratio, is there anything else that I would have to worry about or will it just run like that?

I'm almost thinking it would be worth a shot to try the HD kit even if it doesn't work.

Re: cv axle maybe...
I may be interested in that. I want to pull it apart and see if the ring gear in the transmission has got damaged first. I talked to a transmission guy here in daytona and he said that if the ring gear is damaged then i need to drop the transmission. He offered me 1700 to rebuild my tranny. ouch

Re: cv axle maybe...
I got under and looked at it this morning. The passenger cv joint looks fine and in the transmission all the way. It kind of looks like the fluid was coming from behind the axle a little bit. It's hard to tell since there is trans fluid all over the right side. I'll take the wheel off when I get out ...

Yesterday when I was pulling out of my parking spot in a tight left turn I heard a really loud clank/popping noise. At first I thought I had hit something but I got out and everything looked a felt fine. So I continued cautiously to the store. On the way out of the parking lot it made the loud noise ...

Re: Cooling fans on when cold
Bobgto65, thank you for that bit of information.
I did swap relays 37 and 40 individually with the relay 33 from the hvac slot. I did notice when I pulled 37 or 40 that one or the other fan would shut off but as soon as I popped another relay in they would continue to run so I assume those are ...

Re: Cooling fans on when cold
Yea I just played swap the relays... They're were 3 of them. A primary, secondary, and parallel. The primary and secondary I could swap the hvac relay for but the parallel was a different number. Anyways that gave me no luck unfortunately. Thanks for the advise, next time I go out I'll give the ...

Re: Cooling fans on when cold
Cool I'm not crazy. I was pretty sure those fans were suppose to be on when the engine was cold. Now how would I tell if the relay is sticking?

Cooling fans on when cold
Quick question. On the 2000-2005 Bonnevilles with the n/a 3800 do the cooling fans run on low all the time?
I started my car up this morning to check a squeaky pulley and noticed the cooling fans were on... It was 58*F this morning so I know the engine was cold. And I double checked to make sure ...

Re: whos bought a uim for 3800?
I have a 2001 Bonny SE and a while ago my egr valve was throwing me trouble codes so instead of replacing it I had my pcm programed to delete it. I then used a piece of a Mt. Dew can to block the valve. My question is now that I have deleted my egr, could I just pull out that whole stovepipe on the ...

Main light control module??...
Hi everyone,
Today I took my Bonny into an auto electric shop to diagnose why every time I turned on the blinker my cruise control would cancel. I had a friend follow me down there so I could get a ride to work. He noticed that about halfway through the trip my taillight brake lights stopped working ...

Re: harofreak00 feedback (Bonnevilles Unlimited)
To add on, my mom just got home and looked at the taillight lens on the bench. When she came her exact words were, "Tom, I thought you ordered a used taillight, that one looks brand new." You have exceeded our expectations Andrew.

Re: harofreak00 feedback (Bonnevilles Unlimited)
I ordered a new drivers side taillight (I live in Florida so the sun and heat quickly gets to the lens). I got it today and I am super pleased with what I received. I can hardly believe its a used taillight by looking at the lens. It was packages nicely (lol a Budweiser case box cushioned inside ...

Re: Alternator whine
Yea that's where I probably should include the detail where I am using an aftermarket kenwood receiver and am running RCAs off the back of that to my amp... I know if I unplug the RCAs off the back of the amp that the whine does disappear. I am using the stock harness for the ground on my HU, so I ...
