Re: Updated trans mount design - The Boat Roller Mount

Hey, that looks real neat and clean!!!!

Thanks for the detailed info, this will be very helpful when I get mine done.

I am really suprised that the mount on my 02 sle is still very functional and not damaged. I have looked at it very carefully several times and it shows no sign of failure or ...

At my last oil change, I used Valvoline Max Life Synthetic Blend Oil. I have been using Conventional Valvoline Oil in my cars for years. I decided to give the Synthetic Blend a try because it was the same price ($16.17) for the 5 qt. container as the Conventional ...

Re: Valvoline Max Life Auto Transmission Fluid

I am planning on keeping the Bonny for a while, maybe I will do the shift kit.

I get most of my fluids at the local WalMart, but they do not carry the Max Life atf yet. Auto parts stores around here in CT are around $6.00 /qt for this atf. WalMart usually undersells them, sometimes by a lot. I can ...

When I bought the Bonny, I serviced the tranny, drained and filled and put in a new filter. I used a generic brand of Dextron III with some Lucas and she runs fine and shifts well.

I also own a 2006 Toyota Rav4 V6 that I bought used several years ago for towing ...

Re: rotors

I just got back from a fishing trip in Maine!!!!

It was great!!

Centric parts are great. I was very pleased with the quality of all the brake parts from Centric.
I went with Centric Posi-Quiet ceramic pads, and Centric Premium Rotors, not slotted or drilled.
Very pleased with the brakes on the ...

I also use Valvoline MaxLife Syn Blend oil 10-30. I used to use conventional Valvoline 10-30 but after I tried the MaxLife Syn Blend, the engine ran smoother and with less noise. Also this oil stopped the small oil bleeds on the engine/ oil pan gasket. I would run this for 5k to 7k ...

Re: rotors

I went with the Centric premium rotors (not slotted or drilled). Very pleased with these, painted hats look nice, no rust. Had these on since March 2014.

I went with the Centric Posi- Quiet ceramic pads. Very positive, quiet braking, no noise, just a little bit of brake dust. Since you are going ...

Re: replacing balljoints

Everything is functional, balljoints are not bad. This would be preventive maintenance. I am an old timer (60) and still not used to front end parts lasting 100k+ miles. The Bonny is my good weather cruising machine and I have already done brakes, front struts, installed the new steering shaft, new ...

replacing balljoints

I am planning the next front end project for the Bonny, replacing the balljoints this fall or winter. I know that the balljoints are riveted so I have to drill them out. Instead of doing just the balljoints, I see that you can replace the entire lower control arm with new balljoints ...

Re: Looking for advice on a hood dent.

For dents that I had back side access to, I have used wood blocks and various types of hammers. With wood, you can shape it as needed, looks like you can start with a section of 2x3 or 2x4. With this technique, I used mostly metal hammers. I would start with a 16oz or 20oz hammer and finished with a ...

Re: rotors

When you start to look on line, you will see a lot of rotors.
I recently replaced my OE rotors with Centric rotors, not slotted or drilled. They make slotted rotors.
The rotors I got have black plated hats, they provide good brake feel and perform better than the OE rotors. I also installed Centric ...

cleaning leather seats

2002 SLE

Looking for opinions on cleaning of the leather seats in my sle. I have cleaned many leather jackets with saddle soap. Just general cleaning, there are no stains or heavy dirt on the seats currently.

So what have you all used with good results?

Any info greatly appreciated.

Re: Is it a "good" deal, or just a low price?

!!!!! $54.50 for an 18 inch alloy wheel seems unreal. Is that price correct? Even a new steel 18 inch wheel costs more.

I have no experience with Proline wheels, I don't know anyone who has had Proline wheels. Maybe someone with experience with this brand can comment.

I have seen and purchased my ...

If it is not a security issues then it may be the ignition switch itself. I would start testing to see if current is flowing when the switch is turned to the start position.

Good luck with this.
