Re: 2003 bonneville vibrates on highway speeds

Over-diagnostic has sometimes been an issue of mine #-o ...Rotating the tires would help pinpoint a tire issue over suspension.

Re: 2003 bonneville vibrates on highway speeds

If the control arm needs replacing I would definitely do that first. Depending on the reason for replacement (ball joint or bushing) it can cause all sorts of issues, now and in the future. Hopefully the tire doesn't have a slipped belt, it seems rare these days unless it wasn't good quality to ...

Welcome back! Seems like once you have a Bonnie there's just no escaping them. I'm on my third, now an 01 SSEi after a 15 Fusion & a Grand Prix somewhere in the mix.

Re: I'm Back...with Pics!!

Carl, was it the pics that gave it away, haha!

Pair of SSEI, I was just in North Carolina on business and saw ZERO Bonnie's (well one, but abandoned on the road side, d'oh) and I think it so sad the Pontiac line died...*dang* Buick...

jradke, I know, the engine bay is gross. But some work is ...

Re: 2003 bonneville vibrates on highway speeds

Sometimes a RoadForce balance will help. It's a common issue on Bonnie's of our generation. Outside of tires it could be a suspension issue, but a vibration at hwy speeds won't be an alignment issue.

Re: Noob boost q

I'll check that when I run back out in engine-off, but earlier I watched the gauge and at 50 mph and ~2600 RPM the gauge was just barely hanging at "0." Just seems odd to me.

Re: Removing headlight assembly

I have had some stubborn one's in my day, and 98% of the time I just need that extra oomph when I think I'm going to break it and it comes free. But the other 2%...yea then you need new socket-clip-thingies. :banghead:

Re: Noob boost q

Seemed right to me, but the wording in the manual threw me off, and the positive-at-only-heavy-accel didn't help. Thanks!!

I mopped up a puddle of water in the spare trunk well, couldn't find the source, grrr. Another quick wash and order parts from Rock Auto and Andrew then she sits while I'm in the Caribbean for a week. :bwoohoo:

Noob boost q

Hey Pontiac Bonneville Club, sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I have a question on the S/C: what does/is the boost gauge supposed to show at idle? The owner's manual says zero (centered) but at idle I sit roughly -8 and only on heavy acceleration does it ever show positive. This is my ...

Nice find...be nice to throw up in the garage. Buddy of mine has a 95 Impala SS and the ad said "Vader's car has arrived" or something to that effect. Found him the original ad, blew it up and framed it, now it sits over his toolbox...nice touch to the garage. Especially since outside of the usual ...

Re: I'm Back...with Pics!!

Thanks guys! The car was babied for sure, the original owners were an older couple and barely drove (obviously) but I'm already stacking the list of maintenance to cross off...but that comes with the upgrade list too. I mean, why re-install the current S/C when doing the gaskets when I could get a ...
