I was driving the Bonnie yesterday and realized my turn signal doesn't make any clicking sound. The turn signals still work though. I figured I need a new flasher, but I am not sure if I need to care about which one I get. At Rockauto I see descriptions that say combos of thermal, electronic, electro-mechanical, metal housing, plastic housing. I don't know if there is any reason to get one style over another.

Heck, I don't even know where it's at in the dash... Anyone know?

This is going back a bit but I feel like I swapped the 'clicker' from the hazards to the turn signal to trouble shoot one with the other. I'm also not sure but I think I pulled my chime module a while ago do to an issue or short with it. I could have sworn it was red but maybe just the connector is. Here's one on ebay.. not sure how right they are with the years.

Everything should be drivers side on the the dash.

Well, from what I remember, there's the chime module I linked and 2 flashers (hazard and turn).

It's a mechanical noise from the flasher unit, which essentially a self controlled relay.

I'm in favor of the German style units which flash at a constant rate not dependant on the wattage load (how many bulbs they light up). Very useful for when I attach trailer lights. And not affected by using LED bulbs too. Although you lose the warning a bulb is out, normally by flashing very quickly or not at all.

I replaced the flasher today. It sounds a little unrefined for a turn signal click, but it does click.

By the way, the flasher is above the parking brake pedal, just clipped to some dash structure. No tools needed. Just long fingers. Or really small hands I suppose.
