My 2000 SSEI is now having a no crank no start problem. Was working great the last couple of months without a hitch. Today I decided to change out my oil pressure sensor and write a revised tune from ZZP so I can do some data recording and the car wouldn’t start after that. Now 7 hours later and it’s dead in my driveway. Put the old sensor back on, no luck. I don’t understand, because the only thing I changed with my tune was change the cooling fan on/off temp settings. I’ve since reverted back to the stick tune and still no start or crank. Dash lights up with Service Theft System. Is there a PK3 bypass like the older GM cars with VATS? Please help, this is my daily driver for work.

You can tune out the security, but no simple bypass like the VATS. Have you tried a 30-minute security relearn?

Here are the instructions from the service manual:
1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF, using a master Pass-Key® III key (black).
2. Observe the security telltale. After approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn off.
3. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
4. Repeat step 1-3 two more times, for a total of 3 cycles or 30 minutes.

Here are instructions written from someone who has done many relearns.
1. Insert black key into ignition and turn to ON. Start 10 minute timer.
2. Wait for the yellow SECURITY light to go out and then turn the key to OFF for 5 seconds.
3. Again, turn igntion to ON. Start 10 minute timer.
4. Wait for the yellow SECURITY light to go out and then turn the key to OFF for 5 seconds.
5. Again, turn igntion to ON. Start 10 minute timer.
6. Wait for the yellow SECURITY light to go out and then turn the key to OFF for 5 seconds.
7. Again, turn igntion to ON and the car should start.

A couple points to mention. Roll the window down and keep all the doors shut during the entire process. Reach through the window opening to turn the key. If you have one, hook up a battery charger and charge it while you do the relearn. With the key on, it can drain the battery. To keep the load off the battery turn off the radio, blower fan and the headlights. Rotate the DELAY knob to OFF every cycle. Use a stopwatch or timer to keep track of the 10 minute intervals so you can stay on top of it.

I’m going to give the relearn a try. How can I tune out the security? I have HP Tuners if that’ll work.

Security light won’t go out after key forward for 10 minutes. Did it 3 times for 30 minutes, still no start.

You probably have a bad component in the PassKey system, either the module or the exciter. See if you can connect to and find any codes in the Theft module using a higher end scantool. If you have HP tuners I believe you can tune it out, I don't have any experience with that though.

Thanks to ZZP, I’m back on the road again. Tuned it out. Back to tuning!

Year and Trim: 2010 Chevy Suburban
Hi I know this is an old thread but I’m desperate. I have a 2010 Suburban and the Passkey 3 system is no longer communicating. Therefore, I have a no crank situation. The security light stays on beyond 10 minutes and never turns off when attempting to reprogram the key. Very rarely does the key actually work to start the car, but it works for like a day or two and then goes back to no crank.

How did you tune out your immobilizer? Did you use HP Tuners? Please help me, I am desperate and losing my mind for the past 3 years this has been happening.

OP said he had ZZP tune it out, not an option for your Suburban. You could do it with HP tuners though.

However 1 minute of research tells me your 2010 Suburban would not be PK3, it would be the + system. Your confusion tells me there are problem other issues at hand, like wrong blank. A simple locksmith job would be cheaper than HPtuners.
