in my 02 i only use the cup holder closest to the arm rest. a regular pop bottle sits in it and it barely comes over the arm rest. Which is great. But my phone usually sits in that holder while the other is used to hold club cards. The old emblems fit perfectly in these cup holders

I mainly put my drinks in the cup holders that are in the arm fold down arm rest in the back.

Is that out of an 03 or newer? If not, what was changed on the 03+? That setup looks identical to my 03.

I like the 00 design with the door closure cause my wallet or cell fit in there hidden from view.

I really wish I would have seen this before buying just the cup holder on eBay, lol.
How stupid of me to think it would be a simple switch. :bhuh:

I've had a lot of the cars you guys are talking about and I've got to say the 96-99 door cup holders are just stupid. Was their an upgrade for these years?

At least you guys have cup holders. My 88 Accord doesn't have any. Not one. And it's a stick. Try driving in town with a Big Mac and your phone in one hand, shifting with your other, steering with your knee, with a triple-thick chocolate shake melting between your legs. When you get back to work people look at your crotchal region, shake their heads, and walk away. All because there's no cup holder.

My wife has the same car, a y2k New Beetle in the same color. The cupholders will hold a can, maybe a 20 oz... they redesigned the console and instead of 3 tiny cup holders (the middle one is useless) they have two which pivot, allowing larger drinks to sit in the passenger knee room. At least you can put the car in park lol. That car was all about form over function, I wont tell you the atrocities of working on it.

My Jeep has terrible cupholders that the PO bolted to the console to keep them from falling off (this is a factory clip on accessory) they litterally stick into the passenger seat leg room, but my wife says they dont bother her.

Now in the Lesabre they fold right out of the center console... the ones in my Century and Roadmaster did this and theyheld drinks fairly well... but this Lesabre has overly complicated ones that will fit a coffee mug handle securely... and thats it... cans/bottles tip over because they are too loose and fall under the brake petal. Large drinks fall over and open because the holders are too shallow.... if I can change out the armrest I think I can insert one that has the regular ones but for now drinks sit between my legs
