Yes and no change. This thing dont sound like its knoking but its pulling the timming waaay back and dumping boost to stop detonating. I still have the knock sensor in the box but its a pain in the butt

Can you measure and maybe take a picture of your sc pulley? I'm wondering if a smaller one has been installed.

That looks like a correct part number for the prom.

I forget, does fluid come out when you take the knock sensor out?

Anything smaller than 2.5 would increase boost, there's no real step. You can get a pulley in many sizes. https://pulleyboys.com/cart/eaton-m62-keyed-pulley.html

I kept reading horror stories about doing knock sensor. But no fluid came out and it was a litttle tricky but out and in 10min

I'm not sure what could cause that. I was under the impression that both plugs on a coil were fed a parallel signal. Could maybe all three coils have failed in the same way? Not super likely, but not impossible.

So, reading, one fires positive and one fires negative. In an "equal and opposite" world, they should be visibly identical. I'm not sure how it would affect it, but maybe the battery or engine-chassis grounds need attention?

Thats a good idea with the ground.. I have adressed the ground cluster under the i/m. .. You are correct the they fire +and-. Ill check them tonight dead cold and see if the spark is even as my knock only comes when engine is good and heat soaked

Well i replaced all intake gaskets. It ran worse. Lol.. I sootted the mass air dropping out. So that helped a bit with idle. Can anybody tell me how this car figures engine load???? Im watching it as a value on my scanner and when the engine sees a high load it dunps the boost...

The diagnostic aid says this car dumps boost when it sees excesive load and throtle 0% as well as reverse. If i could find out how the ecm figures engine load i could go to the source. It also is retarding the timming to protect engine knock.. The o2 says its rich when throtle pushed.. any wild guesses welcomed

Are you certain your sc is a stock 92/93 and not a swapped in 94/95?

It could be? The guy did say it was replaced? The pully is 2.8 inches.. how would i tell?? Also,, I now know that the mass air flow sensors i have been swaping in and out are for a non s/c 3.8L.. After market makers only have one part number and listing for 3.8L but A/c delco lists a seperate part number for s/c and non s/c cars. My research into hot the ecm calculates "engine load" Tells me that it figures out the air charge vs rpm and fuel trim..

I will begin with the correct mass air sensor. There is a slight addjustment on the bypass vavle as you know and this when moved makes my problem worse.. how do i tell the superchargers apart quickly? You may be right about the later one being installed???? For now i have dissabled the dump solenoid and monitor my knock. I can get decent performance but i know there is more hp in this engine.. Timming feels off and still rich as hell.
