That all sounds very frustrating. Hope that new beefy clutch will out-beef the last one.

The new clutch is certainly beefy.. My left calf is about to get huge from the clutch pedal pressure.

I left my car at my work all week while I was on travel for work. It was actually good timing. Order parts, leave, come back and be ready to go.

Turns out, I actually blew up 1st gear. These so much fun going on in there it actually binded up in reverse. I have a spare trans (of course) because I got another VLSD trans for $50, had it rebuilt for $200 and put it in a while back to replace the original with blown diff bearings. A couple years ago I thought the rebuilt trans was starting to go.. So I took the OG VLSD trans apart, replaced the diff bearings and installed a 1-off bearing shim since Nissan doesn't make them anymore. The OG trans seems to be working well at the moment.

Piggy back ride.

Shortly after my last post I found out the engine in this car was burning oil at the valve guides or rings. I told myself that if I ever had to pull the engine out of this car again, that was it. I picked up the 07 G35 to replace this with some level of familiarity.

I tossed around fixing it even though I said I wouldn't.. I broke (and fixed) the clutch pedal bracket a couple months ago while I was working on my G35 but finally decided to part ways by parting it out. I've seen 3.5 swapped cars just sit for months.. on top of not wanting it to be someone else's nightmare, I didn't want to unload it for next to nothing.

RIP i30. It was a cool 7.5 years. I learned a lot.

It's official, official.

Got $1100 out of it so far. Still have 3 VLSD transmissions, 5 speed swap kit, $500 1k mile clutch, brake upgrade, seats, coilovers, gauges, wheels, etc.

My target is $2500, all of which is going in a separate bank account for the Bonneville. (Bodywork etc.)
