I am trying to install/wire thishttps://www.ebay.com/itm/LN-BT02-Bluetooth-4-0-Audio-Receiver-Board-Wireless-Stereo-Sound-Module/201501624721?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D49057%26meid%3D58d1ca77b33543fc83c9081106566174%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D201501624721&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%253A3d5e915f-bd15-11e7-81b5-74dbd1809eb6%257Cparentrq%253A6afc90a815f0ab146a6280e4fffdc4bd%257Ciid%253A1to (or inside the unit if need be).

I plan to wire to and use the mic from the onstar mirror (disconnecting it from onstar wiring) and maybe replace the onstar physical switches behind the buttons with the 3 switches in the pic if room allows (I know all three work off of resistors on a 2-wire setup) else-wise I may put them elsewhere or just not use them at all. My car doesn't have the CD changer but does have the XM radio, so i am thinking I can splice into the L+ R+ and common low level (pre-amp) feed from the XM module to the radio just behind the connector at the back of the radio and then tune the xm station to "0" since it has no audio feed, thereby allowing my BT connected device to transmit audio over the xm line and the xm module will still be transmitting the status of health signal so the car knows its connected and allows the signal. Does this seem correct or am I in error somewhere. I have the electrical/electronic skills to complete it soldering wise etc, but can't find a schematic of the radio itself anywhere (or I would just solder it to the proper connection points inside and just run the mic and switch wires out the back in a pigtail. (I wire commercial Johnson Controls (JCI) controllers for lon/bacnet, etc for a living so I am very familiar with reading schematics etc.)

well this thread seems to confirm my idea is sound at least for tapping into the xm lines and tuning the radio to XM chan "0" (radio ID channel)...guess I will proceed when I have all the parts and post back when done.

My son tapped into the XM L and R but the volume level was really low. He switched back to the Cassette Tape adapter with a Blue tooth.

You can pull the gears out of the cassette tape adapter and disable the broken tape eject feature on the radio. Don't have to do this but when the temperature changes they tend to eject the adapter.

I have a 2002 ssei with the CD changer method for aux input, works and sounds great. I haven't had CD quantity for years. My son has an 2003 w/ XM but still uses the Cassette tape method. If you figure it out please update.

hmm, do you know where he tapped into the xm L & R inputs (back by the xm box, or up by the radio?) I'm thinking of tapping in back by the box, as I can also tap into the rear view mirror mic line there and use it as the mic for hands free calls. Everything seems to point to it being low level pre-amp signal, meaning shouldn't need an amp to up the signal strength/gain on it...maybe I will do some more looking at boards etc. By chance do you know what he used to tap in to the lines...just aux jack or something else?
