So, hoodlums decided to break into my car through the vent glass on both rear doors last weekend as a welcome home gift. From what I understand, the glass and trim is all one piece. How exactly does it come out and is there any adhesives involved? Luckily I have an extra (but crunched) door lying around to practice on. Also, is there any way to disable the trunk release button in the glove box? The hoodlums stole my sound system from the trunk because I hadn't locked the glove box.

Basically, you need to remove the main glass from the door in order to get the trim/frame out. It's not overly difficult. After the main glass is out, there are a couple or perhaps three 10mm bolts that hold in the track for the main glass which is coincidentally part of the frame for the small glass. The felt covered portion across the top of the door and forward edge simply press into the door.

As for the trunk release, I'd probably just unplug the switch from behind. If they open the glove box and the trunk doesn't open, they likely won't dig further to troubleshoot why the switch isn't working.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Some of society are still thieving scum. I'd be really mad!
