Greetings! I purchased the following rebuilt a/c compressor via Amazon. My mechanic installed it tonight and said the a/c compressor won't engage and he doesn't know why. He did say the back of the a/c unit is a bit different that the stock one taken out mechanic say there is an extra wire coming out of the back of the a/c unit with no where to plug it in. Did I purchase the wrong a/c compressor? thoughts? Amazon still shows it fits a 95' Bonneville.

Do you have a picture of this?

There are 2 pressure switches, one for low side at the Accumulator/Drier... And the high will be on the back of the compressor.. Most times the high pressure switch will have to be installed in the rear of the compressor.. When you turn on the AC the signal goes through these 2 switches and then back to the PCM.. If one or both are disconnected the compressor will not engage.

I'm searching this item and looking at pictures of it and I don't see any wire coming out of the back of it. It shows having a plug close to the clutch, but no other wires. I would guess that you ordered correctly, but they shipped the wrong item. If you go to Amazon and look at pictures of the item you purchased, does it look like what you got? Again, Google "ryc 10306220" and the item you will get doesn't show having a wire coming out of the back of it. I think you got shipped an incorrect part. I think your mechanic should have noticed this before he installed it. I hope he doesn't make you pay twice once you get the correct part.

It appears that your 95 is one that used the HD6 compressor.

Look at the pics of the HD6 compressors--some brands like ACDelco you can view the backs.
