I found the squeaking noise my car makes when going ovdr bumps and some turns. He said it needs new front sway bar bushings. How hard is this to change? He said he had to drop craddle and was hard. He wanted to charge me 100. Any tips of R&R of F sway bar bushings

Thanks
JUSTIN

One does not need to drop the cradle. Access to the bolts is a little tight, but not terrible. I took the front wheels off and fender liners for visibility then have the bolts a good shot of PB blaster.

I didnt really understand the beginning of that msg admin. I found poly bushings for 20 25 bucks. What size is my sway bar? I have an FE1 suspension I guess. I found this code, among with 30 other codes, on spare tire in trunk. Also should I change stabilizer links too?
Thanks
Justin

Sorry, I got autocorrected and didn't notice. I edited it to be correct now. I think an fe1 has a 28 mm bar but I'm not positive. I would replace the endlinks if they are originals. There's a good chance they'll snap when you try to remove them.

The endlinks have to be removed to change SB bushings?
Should I replace both with poly or just stick with OEM?
Its over 21 yrs old w 135k Ive only had it a month. I installed both F struts, springs and mounts. I also installed new ICM I I just wanna make it safe and reliable not much rust and low miles for age
I also had an alignment after struts and was told i will need tie rods soon.
I will need alignment again after I R&R old tie rods right?

They don't have to be removed to do the bushings, but it might make wiggling the bar easier to get things on and off if you do.

I think most 95 FE1 bonneville used a 30mm sway bar in the front..

Some guys like to upgrade to the 32mm front bar and 22mm rear bar..

I should probably do end links as mentioned with SB bushings.
Are there any how to videos on R&R of these?
I have basic knowledge but not ASE certified or even close lol
Please help with changing of sway bar bushings and end links. Should i just buy the 30 mm? they have 3 choices

Your car is FE1, does it have the F17 or FW2 code?

You may have to measure the front sway bar.. It should be a 30mm, but the only way to be sure is to measure..

More than most, if the car had factory alloys, and a factory deck wing along with Code 1SC it should have a 30mm bar.. But again, measuring is the sure way to know.

Not sure I will check the spare tire cover again in trunk. Just wrap a measuring tape around SB? I dont have a micrometer

suspension-steering/topic16985.html

The above is for the endlinks..

For the centers I think I would honestly do the rubber.. The Poly urethane centers seem to crack up over time.
