You would normally get air OUT of that...It's an inflator. There is a hose that attaches to it that comes in your accessory kit that you can use to inflate a tire if you have about 20 years to wait, or a beach ball or stuff like that. It runs off of the compressor for the ELC for the rear suspension.

I assume you're talking about the button and schrader valve by the latch? The accessory kit I speak of is in the left corner of the trunk in this pic. :btruestory:

EDIT: A thread I started a while back asking when people have used this, for your reference.

Some models of Bonneville have had this since 1992. I assume you don't have an owner's manual? You should make it a priority to get one.

Your car came from the factory with said Accessory kit, which included, among other things, an air hose and fittings that screws onto that port, and when the ignition is on and you push the "AIR" button on the other side of the latch the pump will run and provide compressed air to that port. You can get air out for tires, beach balls, air mattresses, etc.

It's pretty obvious that your car didn't have that kit (Most have disappeared by now). The compressor for that is also used as part of the Electronic Load Control system to keep your car at a normal ride height when you have passengers and cargo.

If your local dealer can get the part number for it, you can order it from GM Parts Direct, or one of the other GM parts wholesale sites.
