Cody is in the house! We met him and the family (Mom and Aunt) as they were dumping him in Salem. Matt (myfirstbonnie), Lisa, and I met them for Dinner in Salem. There MIGHT have been a ZiLLA burnout in front of them as we were leaving. I think they're coming back through here on Sunday, heading over to Newport before he sends the Ladies home. Matt and Wendy may be going with them to the Coast.

Got a kick out of Mom and his Aunt. Funny people, we had a blast at dinner. I'll get a picture up tomorrow, maybe more on Sunday. Quite odd actually, the odds of both the Chicken and the ZiLLA both attending a meet in December are extremely remote. Both cars are usually put away for the season long before now.

He'll be here for 3 months. We'll get together as often as he gets bored and picks his nose. Thinking about taking him shooting at least once as well.

Good times once again.

I am sure there will be plenty of other get togethers while he is here. I think Mom is a little worried about the influence, but rest assured he is in a good place........................right in the middle between Bill and I, on the map for those of you who think otherwise.

BTW Bill, we will NOT share the sleep sofa in his room!

Very nice people and looking forward to getting together again this weekend.

Well..I was hoping you would say I was a blast, not my mom and aunt but whatever.

So that was you doing a burnout. I was looking down to try to figure out my newfangled rental car and I thought Mom farted. Turns out it was your car. Sorry, man.

This one is going in the record books, the world longest's West Coast Mini-Meet!

Funny thing is that both Bonnevilles had 'hiccups' on the way down. ZiLLA was spewing fuel under the hood. The cap for the fuel gauge fitting on the rail. If it hadn't been for the hood vents, I might not have smelt in time.

The Chicken had some burps at low RPM's that Matt hadn't seen before.

Matt drove the chicken down, met the PRD2BDF family at our place, and then headed out with them to Newport and Lincoln City for the day. Same route and stomping grounds of WCBF fame.

Sunday was a long day for me. After getting off work at 8 am, I drove to Corvallis then over to Newport through Lincoln City and up through McMinneville and on home. The Chicken performed nice and felt good to get some miles on it.

The only issues I am noticing is if I idle for a period in gear like at a stop light etc, the engine will stumble for a second and actually go lean on my WB. It recovers itself or if I tap the accelerator. Right now I am running the PCM Andrew sold me with the stock tune in it and I think that has a lot to do with the cam and lack of tune. I did get 23 mpg for the trip.

Cody's Mom and Aunt seemed to have a good time. We ended up eating at Mo's and had lunch. Auntie and I had the clam chowder, Cody had a burger and Mom had the grilled cheese. We then took a walk down the road and got to see some fish cleaning from the charters that dock behind Mo's annex.

They were all excited to see the sea lions, but there were none. We then drove across the bridge and went to the Oregon Aquarium and saw the sea lion during feeding time perform some tricks.

I did not take any pictures, but the rest of the Family did and I am sure Cody will post a few.

From there we drove through Lincoln City and then headed out route 18 and they split off on 22 to Salem and I followed 18 into McMinneville where I caught 47 and went on home.

The only casualty was the windsheild of Cody's rental. It looks like a stone hit it in the very low driver's corner. When he activated the windsheild washers, it cracked half way across the driver's field of view.

Our route of travel was US RT 20 from Corvallis to Newport. From Newport we followed US 101 to Lincoln City. North of Lincoln City we took Oregon RT 18 east and they took Oregon RT 22 back to Salem.

I cannot thank Matt enough for taking the time to show us around, especially after getting right off work.

I really liked everything that I saw. I was peeved about the crack in the windshield but as Mom said, what can you do?

Replaced the rental today and got a washed 2010 Dodge Charger and thank god it's not the anemic 2.7L V6.

Mini-meet continues......

(as Cody already stated, this'll be the longest west coast mini-meet ever)

Cody is heading down here tomorrow. We have the final work to do on the Zip Line. Reinforcing the cable anchors and weather-proofing the hardware. It's probably our last good weekend for weather this season. We'll take some good pics and vids.

STAN! Cody almost died a fiery death! I kid you not!

We spent the day working on the zip line, new anchors are far stronger than mother earth. *dang*, I weld good. Now we're ripping a 600lb concrete anchor out of the ground.

Cody drove us home. I had too many beers. ON the way, we stopped by to pick up some pizzas for take n bake. I got back in the car, Cody was driving us home, and I smelled fuel. Raw fuel. I knew what it was. The seal on the test port of the T-adapter for my fuel pressure gauge at the rail was dripping. Right above the rear exhaust manifold. Cody had no clue. I called ahead, had Lisa move the SLEeper, and Tyler was waiting with the hose.

We saved Cody!

We have introduced Cody to Grand Theft Auto 4 on PS3, he is now happily murdering people left and right. I believe the death count is 137 people in 12 minutes.... Oh! 139... 45... Nevermind. Oh! That one hurt.... OH! Ow!!!

Umm, here's the notepad document I've been using to teach him directions. Tyler has been contributing. Wow, Cody's a natural.

"Do you know what grand theft auto is about?

Basically just kill everyone. There are weapons cheats Tyler can use for you, it's a great way to take out aggression

Just ignore it

To take a car, pu (nevermind, he got it)

Cops are after you

when you get out of the car, push the right arrow, R2 is shoot.

If you slow down, most pissed off drivers will try to attack you

The map is in the bottom left corner, if you get out of the flashing red and blue circle, the cops will leave you alone, every time a cop spots you the circle moves to follow you, you must get out and not be seen.

It's ok, it'll start over

push in left stick

sirens are on

if your car sets on fire, push triangle and RUN

no weapons, you got arrested, they took them

I don't think you need help

Ah the screams of the dying"

Cody, so glad you're here. He picked the game up instantly, one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Every unprompted murder just makes my smile bigger. Lisa, Dad, and Tyler seem to agree. He just rammed a cop car four times and flipped it, then smashed a cop against his own car, then ran him over.... several times. Cody? We're keeping you. And you read really fast, it's super impressive. That is all for now.

Love,
Shorty

Well, I have to say that when I was idling at the stop light, Bill looked at me and then shoved Dex aside because he was blocking the view. He asked me, do you smell anything?

I didn't want to tell him that I smelled old car so I shook my head. He said I'm smelling gas. I looked at him then tried to smell it. Couldn't smell it. I thought he was being crazy. So I kept on driving to his house. I carefully pulled in because people who've been to his house know that the driveway doesn't offer much room (imagine me trying to pull the Charger in!)

While I was slowing down, Bill hopped out and I thought oh maybe he's running in to open the garage door but I thought it was odd that Tyler was standing there with a water hose and Katie just standing there. I thought oh maybe Tyler was cleaning off something. Bill ran around to the front of the car and started to feel under the hood. I was confused then shocked when he opened the hood. I was still idling at that point since I had NO IDEA! Bill looked at me and did the universal gesture for "KILL THE *dang* MOTOR!" Bill sprayed a lot of water on the hot engine.

Interesting. A little warning in advance would have been nice.

Thank you, Katie for showing me the game, it was certainly an interesting game!

The only way to let you know was to text you, and you were driving the drunk! Besides, we were 6 blocks from home, and it was easier to call ahead to have a car moved so the hose would reach. This happened on New Year's Eve also. I've disconnected the gauge. I think the schrader valve on the T-fitting test port is sticking, allowing fuel to leak into/past the cap seal.

GTA4 is actually a very interactive game that takes you through a long story. It's actually pretty entertaining to watch others play it.
