Every once in a while when I am braking to a stop, there is an audible pop from the radio, the ABS light comes on and either the car dies or the rpms are so low that I have to put in neutral & rev it to keep it running. If I turn the car off and restart a few minutes later, everything is good again. (Also, if for some reason I hit the brakes suddenly, both brake warning lights on the dash come on briefly and then go out).

Took it to repair shop - they tell me that the code says occaisionally the ABS box in the engine bay draws to many amps and it should be replaced.

Anyone have any thoughts on what's happening - should I consider replacing the box and if so does anyone have a line on one that works in good condition.
