Well My EGR wasn't cooperating during the header install so i had to get rid of it. I made a couple block off plates and was wondering what kinda codes ill throw and if it'll effect my driving until i can get the thing tuned out?

So my thought are to leave it plugged into:
- the wireharness
- The LIM
Then take the stovepipe that goes into the exhaust mani and put a hose on it and direct it into the CAI somewhere. Just be sure to have the air getting sucked into the engine be after the air filter so it gets clean air. This way it will get air flow and the PCM should be happy.
Honestly, don't know if your year model has flow errors but as long as its plugged in and flowing air it should be happy.
After I click the Submitt button I'll see what year Bonneville you have.
Do you have to comply with emmisions in the county that you have your car registered?

should pass emissions without the EGR as long as they don't know you removed it

They just do the plug in test no visual or anything, so if i get it tuned out i think ill be OK for inspection.

So with the 96 you need Synister to tune it out?

A DHP can program the 96 as well.

You may want to make a couple calls to ensure they don't perform a visual inspection. I was surprised to learn that during the plug in only test in my state they recently began visual emission controls inspection.

In Arizona part of the inspection is to lift the hood but they don't have anything on the check list to look at.. Brilliant huh? :bhuh:
Step one, park the wheels of the car on the dyno.
Shut of engine and exit the car.
Service personell will plug into ODBII port.
Start engine
Go to PC and click start button & wait until computer check is complete.
Shut off car.
Ask owner to get into car and pull forward to next check point.
So I pull forward and shut off engine.
Pop the good sir.
I pop open the hood latch, they struggle until they find the latch, open hood then walk away.
Go to gas cap, remove gas cap, put gas cap back on,
walk back to hood and close it.
$27.00 Sir.
Meanwhile, I have Headers, no Air tubes installed, no cats.
Have a nice day sir. :usa:
Then go back home, login to http://servicearizona.com/ and order my plates, stickers etc...
Have a nice day.
That's the Vette tho..

The GTP, I bolt on an EGR valve for looks only, snap a wire harness connector onto the top of it and push the wires down behind the engine. just in the eventuality that some dude knows what an EGR looks like, its there all shiny & pretty. The rest of the story is the same as above.

You have to get new plates every year in AZ? That sucks.
