Same background. Same deal, different motor. Get it to breathe better first. Look into a cold-air intake, the Intense product I have is decent. Porting the LIM (lower intake manifold) is popular around here, and I'm hoping to see the results of that myself soon. The factory exhaust doesn't seem to be overly restrictive, although high flow cats are a choice some make. I've also had my PCM re-tuned by Intense, which I'm happy with as well.

been looking at pcm's by intense but werent sure how reliable they were. does anyboby offer any underdrive pulley sets? also any info on the intense stuff would be helpful. does the upgraded pcm from intense eliminate the speed limiter? does any body know how strong the bottonm end is on the s2 3800 can it handle a small shot of nos? :helpsmilie:

The L67 bottom end is stronger and even stronger than that is the bottom end of the new version the L32. Many people have put turbos and nitrous on the various motors though including the L36. Like with any setup..it depends on how the system is done and how it is used.

a custom tune will be very helpful with , so i would hold off on the intense PCM untill you decide what you want to do. Even after the intense PCM mine was not running good. I would get it scanned, and corrected by a local tuner if anything looks out of place.

As far as underdrive pulleys, ZZP has underdrive pulleys for the Waterpump and alternator. I'm not sure what type of gains you'll see on the NA motor though as the gains of a UDWP is minimal even on the L67. I will say this though, even on the hottest days my ECT temps are the exact same as they were with the original water pump pulley as they are with the Underdrive.

Never any reliability nor drivability issues with my Intense PCM. I'm pleased with it. And my gas mileage is an overall 27.6 MPG, hand calculated, crossing the Allegheny range of the Appalachians on a daily basis, cruise set ~75 MPH. And it will run with my wife's TL, if not better.

well L36 like any motor they to breath cool air so a good CAI and 180 stat to start after a downpipe should see a differennce

you could go with a CAI, 180*stat, underdrive pullies, rockers and downpipe then spray it. Thats pretty much what I am doing on my LN3 except for the underdrive pullies. It will probably be the end of my motor though its almost at 250k and has hard a very hard life the 2 years i have owned it. I have put it through 3 hrs straight of WOT so i think it can handle a 50hp wetshot. If you decide to go with Nitrous then make sure you tell Intense because you will have to pull timing, but the good thing is that Intense can set ur fans to go with the 180* stat and raise your shift points if you get rockers.

If he were going to go with that extreme of a build he'd be a fool not to get a tuner. That's why i bought one so i don't have to ship my PCM back and forth to ZZP/Intense every time i change something.

If you go with the Intense PCM you may want to start running premium. I have one and ran regular, then ran premium. Result on premium is much less knock retard so far.
