Year and Trim: 2002 SSEi
Hello,

This is my first post. I decided to join up here since I am running out of ideas about a KR problem I am having on a new to me 2002 SSEi.

The car is in very good shape and only 120k miles. I am currently seeing 1.5 to 3.0 KR at full throttle (with 92 octane). Here is what I have done to address this problem so far:

New Water pump
New Radiator
185 degree thermostat
Separate transmission cooler (no longer connected to radiator)
Made an air scoop between the two fog lights from aluminum and lexan (really helps temps but not KR).
Removed hood insulation and raised the back of the hood a bit.
One step colder copper plugs.
New gasket in airbox between the two halves.
Cleaned the MAF sensor.

Even with coolant at 185 degrees and intake air temp at 85 degrees I still get those levels of KR. What else could it be?
I am wondering if it could be a fuel injector that is not flowing well, or a vacuum leak somewhere?

What would you try next?

thanks

Is your fuel pressure up to snuff?

That's a good question. I just realized yesterday that the fuel filter has probably never been changed. The car has 120k miles, so I will be doing that next.

So after changing the fuel filter and running some fuel injector cleaner through it, results are the same. For now I am out of ideas but at least all the maintenance is done to make it a good daily.
