These cars sound so awful. I wouldn't recommend doing anything to the exhaust except maybe replacing the mufflers. Either way, it'll sound like a giraffe puking.

I agree with this. These engines do not sound good lol. The best I've heard was headers with no resonator and stock mufflers. My dad's gtp is stock with no resonator and it has a nice little rumble to it. Check out some youtube videos for different set ups. Zzp, MagnaFlow, and SLP are common mufflers used.

Hard to get the 3800 to sound nice. I have Catco muffler with resonator, when I did remove the cat and resonater it sounded way too loud, particularly at WOT. Sounded like a ricer. Not sure I would remove resonator had a drone in the cabin at highway speeds.. I have added back the resonater and cat. I have nice sound at idle (good rumble).

If you feel like you want to do an aftermarket muffler, I personally think the Borla ProXS mufflers sound the best. I have the SLP PowerFlo catback on my Regal and I think it is horrible but I am not willing to spend more money on exhaust work.

Also, make sure you have a cat/resonator or else it is gonna sound that much worse.

I went with Magnaflow on mine. Noticeably louder, a bit deeper of a tone without droning on the highway. Should be about 14" long.

LOTS of Mods
More Resonators the better

Closest is a 18" 4" round Magnaflow Resonator. Further back is a 36" 6" round Magnaflow resonator

I like the deep sound of magnaflow. It is loud yet not irritating.

I agree with Pauller I have a 3 inch downpipe with high flow cat and 2.5 inch pipe all the way to a Magnaflow resonator then into 2 Magnaflow straight through mufflers. Not sure what length of any of them are. They sound great though for a 6 cylinder. very deep and not to loud or irritating even on the high way. If you want some suggestions go to a local exhaust shop thats reputable.

Also exhausts work is worth just getting new exhaust tips. Stock ones are ugly AF
