Hi all,

I've got a complete stock 2000 SSEI as my DD - was curious if anyone has a mild/street tune they care to share?

Cheers,
Robert

First off, welcome to the club! Secondly and just FYI, I've moved this to the Performance section. The section you posted in is more for troubleshooting mechanical problems.

And on to your questions, are you asking about a PCM tune specifically or are you looking for suggestions in general on where to start with modifying?

Do you have a tuning software? If so, what is it?

Hey guys,

Thanks for sorting the post. I have HPTuners, which I got for my Turbo LS4 GXP. Work move brought me to Philly & I won't drive the GXP here in winter so I picked up the SSEI as my commuter. Because it's my DD, I don't want to spend a lot of time tuning on it so figured if someone had a better tune for stock setup would be easiest way.

Cheers

There isn't much you will notice, performance wise, on the stock car, if you're looking for more power. A tune is only worth it to lower the car's operating temperature a little bit, and to make the transmission behave a little better. These things might scarcely be noticeable, and arguably not worth the price you need to pay to unlock the vehicle. Unless of course you have some left over credits in your HPT!

You can lean it out a little as GM tends to like to run a little on the fat side, especially at WOT, but yea, not much to pick up other than driveability benefits.

I dont have HPT or a stock blower or i would be happy to help.. If you look for my posts about tuning on a Regal i shared a link that has some tune files in it. you can use GTP tunes as well to copy some information like trans shifts and what not.. That was the biggest thing i felt with my original ZZP tune. the trans felt so much cleaner.. stock it sucked, so slow and sloppy.

Year and Trim: 2000 pontiac bonneville ssei
help needed 2000 ssei 140k got several codes p0131 p0137 p0171 p0300 plus severe hesitation on slow excel
gas cap message on driver info. ses light on constant.

replaced o2 bank 1 and did a smoke test for vacuum leaks. found intake gaskets leaking, egr gasket leaking throttle body gasket leaking and several vacuum line leaking. all repairs done at trusted facility and vacuum system has regained its integrity. NO LEAKS VIA SMOKE MACHINE. vehicle still shows lean condition when running. sometimes it runs perfect
then will start to act up, with scan tool showing lean condition. no codes displayed current or history and gas cap message
is gone. use premium fuel and sea foam additive. no smells from cat that usually denotes lean or rich condition. shop is at three days and going crazy. any help with a situation like this would be appreciated. my wife is tired of me using her truck.

I would start a new post, this post is a year old and not related to your problems.
