Hello...
After years of Bob (EchoSSEI) not modding his car  finally he's had a real change of heart.

Friday 7/11/2008 after work, Bob and I are going to mod his Bonneville, we are planning on installing those 1.9:1 ratio roller rockers with comp cams 105# valve springs.
Then I'm sending him home with my GTP while I install a wideband in his car and I'll have it tuned in a few days of driving back & fourth to work. :headbang: Well, unless I get it all done while the family is at church Sunday morning...

His car is soo clean under the hood, we'll probabely end up getting it dirty.

Maybe you guys can talk Bob into some pictures..

Later,

Can't think of a better recipient for these mod's...lucky enough I'll be able to see it before it gets to WCBF!! Hopefully he will let me take it out for a quick run around the neighbor hood!!

LOL....I'm not sure who is actually more excited Thomas or me (or maybe mac  )....LOL

You guys crack me up. It hasn't been that I haven't wanted to mod the "Teal Terror", I am just a careful modder with limited mod funds :booty:

Honestly, I wouldn't even be at this point without a little help from my friends :beerchug: You guys ROCK!!!!!

I'll bring the camera and take some install pics.

Mac, of course you can take it for a spin or two. As far as adding a layer of rubber to the asphalt, no problem (you may want to scout out a safe and secluded spot that reduces you chances of getting in trouble with local law enforcement, though  ) and if you break anything or kill the trans, no problems. I'll just borrow the nearest silver-colored 2000+ Bonne I can find to get up to WCBF '08

Good question..
I'd say that he was riding on the thoughts that his car is running really good, he likes his car and its dependable. so until he had a reason to go into the motor etc, he'd just let it be. Good thinking too, just look at us, we mod our cars heavely and look the problems we are having to deal with on a regular basis, breaking motor mounts, breaking CV boots etc the list goes on right?

Did we encourage him, :poke: I hope so.
We talk to him all the time and he gets to help working on these V6 motors all the time when he comes to my house. and we have a good time turning wrenches but we get the lime light of having a fast car and he's happy to be stock. Yeah sure   in actuality his car site in the driveway not getting attention.

The first new leaf to be turned over (I Think) is when Bob gave my kids a piano. Yep, total selfless act, he has kids of his own, bills of his own etc, he could have posted that piano on Craigslist and gotten some cash for it but instead he just gave it to me... my kids.
So, I can't let a 100% selfless act go un-noticed so I bought a nice shinny new set of those pacesetter headers with the Jet Hot coating and I can't remember exactally but Bill.. did't you tell him that they had been ordered before I did? That was part of the fun.. :drunken:
Anyway, Bob's Birthday is in April, April is coming along and I hae nothing planned and all of a sudden I get an email from a friend in Tampa, "Hey Tom" he says, "Know anyone that wants a set of the Intense 1.9:1 GenIII high ratio roller rockers, OR pushrods & APR bolts"? How much? I ask. "I don't know, how's $100.00 sound"?
SOLD...!!!!  :bwoohoo:

This part is for the listening pleasure of everyone except Bill because this is what we did.
I put the rockers, pushrods etc in the bottom drawer of my tool chest. Bob's at my house and Boosty calls him on his cell, there talking and Boosty is telling him, go to the black tool chest, good , now open the bottom drawer, very good. Now see those pretty red roller rockers? yeah, Happ Birthday..!!
Meanwhile I'm on the phone pretending to be ignoring Bob, as he picks up a rag or something and throws it at me.
But hey... What's a set of HR rockers without a set of valve springs right? somehow a set of Comp Cams 105's found their way from the North East region to my front door.. I wonder how that happened Bill..?? :dontknow:

Good times, yes sir,

I know nottttthing about spring

Ok..now the topper ....

Around Christmas a box arrived at Bob's house. He was instructed to put it under the tree. In the excitement about the meaning of Christmas and the kids, he completely missed a present for himself. With WCBF coming up..he'll be needing an oil change. We are all hoping to see Bob gleaming with joy as he pours the first quart of oil into that aluminum oil pan. The downside is anyone else that has one of these knows aluminum corrodes, everywhere in the universe except for Arizona. It should stay shiney and new looking (once he cleans it) for years to come.

Is it time to start modding the car yet?

I asked Bob to make sure its in the trunk when he arrives tonight, if we have time... just maybe we can work on it too.
If not, he can clean it up while he's just hangin out and then it will be ready when he's ready.
Bob agreed, these terms are fair.
If only Boosty would come to AZ and hang out with us, there would be two of us imposing our mods on him. :bhuh:

Here is how its supposed to work... When Bob all of the sudden becomes busy with something that gets his mind running in circles( it does happen with Bob ) You raise the hood, and Ooops.... somehow the Mods get added while he's not looking... All of the sudden he'll wonder how his car got into the 13's...LMAO

Bob here are the SSEi Owners Rules

Rule 1) Must Mod

Rule 2) Always follow Rule 1

Even the Van in my sig is not going to be stock for long...LOL

Well, its done. We finished it up last night.
No problems, I haven't talked to Bob yet today to ask him how she feels.
Bob will come over again tonight and we will install the wideband and tune it.

Bob forgot his camera but I had my old Sony so I took a few pics, When I get Bob photo bucket / put-a-file or whatever information I'll post them.

Later,

Late night, early morning for the install, but got her done. Learned a ton on the install. I am loving how the car pulls strong throughout all RPMs.
