What are the benifits of a L32 bottom end. I know the L32 connecting rods are better, but is there any other benifets.

Thanks

Other than what you stated already, I'd say it's just some refinements of fit and finish compared to the series II L67. That and you get a cast aluminum oil pan.
Might be a couple other things that I'm not thinking of right now, but I think thats about it.

Unless you're building a monster, there's no benefit at all. They PERFORM exactly alike (S2/S3). Durability doesn't come into play until you're hammering out some serious power.

Agreed. alot of the GP guys run L36 bottoms ends with their turbo setups when their L67/L32 poop the bed. when you change the pistions and rods there is not any real other differences. the block is the block.

You're 2k. All of them got that. He was talking to the OP, and probably didn't realize he has a 2k. 95-99 S2 motors got steel pans just like the previous generations.

I didn't realize that 2K's had them. I thought that they only started using them with the series III motors.
I guess you learn something new everyday. :)

On the 2k, the RF motor mount actually attaches to the passenger side of the cast aluminum oil pan, just inside the RF A-arm behind the splash shield.

Thanks guys, i just wanted to make sure. I was looking at just getting a L32 shortblock to put my current mod in then swap it in. But it just does not make sence right now. Maybe in a year or two when i step up to a stage 2 cam and head set.
