Anyone know if any other cars are compatible with the bonnneville, maybe like the T/A or camaro?
I would like to put larger slotted drilled rotors and make it stop faster. :) just an idea.

Anyone know of any after market suspension to tighten it up just a touch, or legitimately lower an inch or two?

Eibach makes a lowering spring kit for the STS that fits the H-body. Oldsman had it on his Riv, and it's in the planning for my PAU.

For brakes, you can upgrade to the dual-piston calipers from the DTS, which are the same as the GXP, just without the lettering. You need the calipers and caliper brackets, but they fit the knuckles just fine, and use the same rotors. I believe they DTS uses the same master cylinder and booster as the Bonneville, but don't quote me.

As for rotors, skip the drilled and just get slotted. Or stay a little cheaper and just get some Centric rotors with Satisfied Gran Sport pads. They'll haul you down pretty hard.

One thing that threw me was the caliper brackets are different for bonneville and grand prix gxps. The gp stuff looks like it'll work fine but the pads are different and I wasn't aware I had gp parts.

I'm looking high and low for firmer struts and shocks but with little luck. Looking for gxp parts gives me the same part numbers as ssei and sle. Pretty sad.

There's a bit of mis-information in this thread:

Gonneville, the only difference in the DTS Caliper and the Bonne GXP caliper that I know of is the GXP caliper is red. No lettering:

I believe FE5 is only the springs and swaybars. The rear shocks look a little different, but no one sells replacements specifically for the GXP except probably GM. There is only one STB, in the front.

My advice: You have an SE with the L36. Unless you plan on doing a bunch of 100-0 stops, the GXP brake stuff isn't going to make a huge difference. Either get SLE/SSEi calipers and their 12" rotors or get a pair of Camaro Calipers and SSEi rotors. The GXP stuff is just going to add a bunch of unsprung weight you won't really take advantage of. I've been more than happy with my EBC rotors.

My bad on the lettering thing, I was thinking of the Gran Prix GXP, I think.

And I really do recommend the Satisified Gran Sport pads. I had EBC Red Stuff pads on my last set, and the difference in stopping power is night and day. EBC wasn't much better than stock, but Satisfied darn near broke my nose. I had to get used to how much harder they grip. Once I adjusted, though, they're perfectly controllable. And the Centric rotors have been on since winter, and they barely show any wear at all.

The ones I was looking at were for the 99 STS.

Wait, the stuff you bought was GP GXP stuff? That was a mean little trick...

I did the Camaro calipers and love the difference. Very recommended.

Do you know if those springs for the '99 STS fit on a 2000 SSEi? $250 to drop an inch sounds great. If you lower our cars with the rear leveling how does that work? Can you adjust the sensor?

Thanks.

Yeah, its grand prix stuff. He didn't know until I told him. I should've known since they had the "GXP"lettering. So I have a set of bonnie gxp pads if your dad needs em. The brackets bolt right up but the ssei bolts appear to be the wrong pitch stupidly.

In rear I'm just getting gxp brackets since the calipers are the same. Nice and simple.

Not to question your experience or anything brian, but are you 100% sure that the seville sts springs do fit the 03 SE? I don't wan2 drop $275 and not be able to use them and no market to resell.. Ya know?

Sweet! Thanks for the confirmation! I'm excited. It's goin' to look SAWEET!
Sorry, i'm new to the bonnevilles and the 3800 as a whole, so i'm still learning. I love working on cars and making things fast and look good while doing so.

Thanks, Wake, I didn't know Pat had dropped his. Haven't been around BPro much lately.

Actually after seeing that.....I don't like how it looks lowered. It's pretty *dang* low from the factory and I've had enough problems with snow already. Yup, convinced me...GXP rims and that's it, no suspension mods as far as lowering.
