Knew that would get your attention.

All the hype about WCBF11 has bitten me with the bug.

The need for speed!

So look what early Santa sent in the mail.

:bwoohoo:

Let's watch those gauge wrap around the speed zone!

[-X Give me a break Matt. It just came in the mail 3 hours ago.

I noticed a lot of belt slip last time I ran the 2.9" pulley.

It was depositing black belt residue so this mod should tighten up the slack.

Are you planning on anything smaller? I never noticed your belt slip and did not realize you were running that small.

I am glad to see you are still at it with the mods. I always like to see these things running down the track and putting up some decent numbers.

How much timing on your setup?

Not being too familiar with pulley-ing, does that mod just help take up the slack in the belt or does it help wrap the belt around the superchargers pulley a little more to increase contact area?

It basically allows more wrap around the SC pulley to reduce slip.

As the supercharger pulley diameter shrinks, the amount of surface area the belt contacts shrinks. The mass of the supercharger resists the belt when you stab the throttle, and the supercharger rotors can lag due to belt slip off the line.

Years ago, I ran a full season on my 2.2" pulley before I realized I had belt slip. I fabricated an extra idler for the Zilla, and immediately felt the difference. It dramatically lowered the rpms that my torque peaked at. Felt like a totally different car. I run mine any time I have the 2.0" or 2.2" on the car, but remove it for the 2.5". This allows me to run a stock belt all season, regardless of pulley diameter.

I'm certainly not running any smaller pulley than the 2.9 for transmission longevity.
Series 2 Gen 5 is different than Bill's Series 1 little huffer.

I can bump the timing up 6 degrees at WOT with my timing commander.
Doing that with the 2.9 necessitate using the H2O/Meth injection to quench the charge without any knock.
Normal driving I leave it at 0. For every 10F increase in outside temp I reduce the timing by a degree.
During the last summer hot spell I had it set to remove 4 degrees of timing.

LOL when it's hot and I'm daily driving, I pop the 3.4" back on and reduce the timing.

When it's hot and I pop on the 2.9 AND increase the timing, I HAVE to use the water injection.

Your lighter GP would be dipping well into the 12's with this set-up.

That's the smoothflow kit, right Paul? Can't wait to see some numbers with the kit!

With all the events happening I haven't had a chance to even look at the Bullet. The trickle charger is showing green and I still run it every month.

I looked at it just now and it appears that I will have to remove the fuel rail to install it. A little more involved than I first thought.

Three of the SC bolts have to be removed and they are directly under the rail and fuel regulator.
Not sure if I'll have to change to a longer belt but I think so based on logic.....unless I go with a smaller pulley. Certainly not a quick change mod. #-o

It will actually make the belt path longer with the same pulley size. Although you might be able to get by with the same size. If you go with a smaller pulley, my bet is you can keep the same belt, like you said.

So to get this straight, you need this mod to run a smaller than stock SC pulley but not necessarily for the stock pulley, correct? Would there be enough clearance for the belt if you left the bar installed but removed just the pulley from it to run a stock SC pulley and belt configuration?

No, the bar would be in the belt path.
I may just have to shelve it for the time being. :???:
