I have a red metal mesh air cone filter. I removed (kinda tore out the air box) when I was fixing brake lines. I took out the sensor, reconnected it to the lead and slid the wires in between the metal pipe of the filter and the rubber elbow. Is this ok? If not, how can I use the cone? I have a 93 non supercharged btw.

Did it come with the car or something (the air filter)? Any clue what brand it is? If it's a cheap one, you'd be better off picking up a K&N filter when you can.

The end of the sensor you speak of needs to be in the flow of the air coming in your motor to get the correct temperature readings.

A cpl members on here said the sensor can be zip ties,or taped to an area close to the cone to get the air temp reading picked up as long as the sensor wasn't touching anything,I'm going with a cone on the tb and am aware ill gain nothing in performance, but I will get the look and sound I'm looking for and other than a fm muffler these are the only performance mods I'm making and by performance I mean improvement in sound.

hi, have a 97,and I'm also going with a cone filter and have been pondering the same question about the sensor that you have I posted below that I've been told to zip tie,or tape the sensor to an area close to the cone to pick up temp,is your car running on with the way you've done this?
