evidentaly even the 500-600 wont happen for awhile. im gonna see if i can break 300 or 350 this year and go from there. im gonna try and focus more on bodywork / interior this summer. so do try to remember that this is just something im looking into aand talking about / over with those of you who have more experience.

You cannot daily drive a 800hp car, let alone get that out of a 3800.

300hp+ is a reasonable goal, but I'd start with a S2 L67.

That was Pontiacjeff on the old site with DSSEI ( :bsnicker: Dual Spool Stool Extractor ).
I think he was successful. His thinking behind the 4T80 was that he would end up stronger and spend less money than all the mods he would need for a 4T65.

The best performance upgrade you can make is the driver. The driver is the most important part of the performance equation.

My guess is you have limited seat time. There is no point in making the car faster until you can control it. A good driving school may also lower your insurance.

Very good point. I thought at 18 I knew all, took me till 23 to realize I didn't then I truly started getting better. Judgment is key and you only gain proper judgment under practice. Don't start racing off full speed until you master it at half.

Heh, I was the one that came up with the name too :laughing3:

And if I remember correctly he gave up after blowing out 2 or 3 head gaskets.

You have to tell them you put a turbo on it anyways, so ur insurance is gonna go up no matter what.

That doesn't mean that this is magically happen. I can wish till I'm blue in the face that my car will run 13's, but that won't happen till I get the money and get the right parts in and installed correctly. Wishing won't accomplish *shoot*, and whining will accomplish less. Get your butt in the garage, work on it and keep us updated.

From how you stated it, you made it sound like you are expecting it to happen because you are a teenager. I'm 17, and when I joined here I barely knew what to do. With help from this site and a little courage and determination, I started to work on my own car. Now I'm not afraid to do it. Don't whine that you want your car faster, do something about it.

Better question is why would you have to tell them?
I've never heard of a single insurance company that needs to know if you upgrade your car.

Unless you significantly alter the value of your car, your Ins. company doesn't need to know. Now if you go full custom, body work, engine upgrades, etc. and your car is worth another $10k, that's reason to notify your ins. company.

Hmmm.... I do know that my neighbor got is big trouble when he wrecked his Eagle Talon in a speed related accident. From the factory it was a non-turbo ESI, but he converted it to a turbo car....wrecked it doing 100+mph, insurance company found out he had a "power adder", and dropped him. Maybe Ohio state law? certain insurance companies? He read the fine print that stated "if you make any modifications that greatly increase horsepower, you must report them to the insurance company so they can adjust your rate accordingly."

He HAD Allstate, he has Grange now.
