So in preparation of taking my 99 Bonne out of storage I took the battery in to be tested......yup no good.
So now I am thinking of going with the fancy battery I call them gel batteries, what are the benefits and drawbacks if any?
thanks in advance for your input

details are
1999 SSEi
Winter stored
Stock (for now)as things wear I do improvements
Upgrade stereo in works

i like 'em my battery croaked in my truck and i got a gel battery to replace it, a week later somebody left my interior lights on in the truck on a sunday, i didn't know til tuesday when i got in it it fired right up!

I believe they are very much worth it. Just don't get snookered into a yellow or blue top. Get red, and your alternator will last longer.

I have two Optima Red Tops and love them both. Best batteries I've ever had.

I got the new battery today. I picked up an Exide optimum gel battery.
Will post a pick tomorrow when I have my camera.

I don't know what brand it was (I do know it was NOT an Optima though), but a friend of mine had a gel battery in his Olds Delta 88 when he had a big system in it. He had a Viper 2400D amp for a JL 12W7 and also a Viper 600.4 amp for his mids. He could run all that stuff cranked up for about 2 - 3 hours without the car running and still start up easy.
