Can anyone tell me how in the world did gm come up with this dumb idea i spent nearly 3 hours trying and prying to get this bad boy off at first i almost thought it was instyalled back wards is it just me are is there a major defect with this harmnoic balancer its off of a 1987 buick century 3800 v6 any and all advice much appriciated really relctant on placing it back on[img][IMG]http://i57.tinypic.com/akykq9.jpg[/img][/img] Image

That should be the old LG3 3.8, and I believe those just slid right off.

Corrosion may be what is setting you back.

If the rubber between the inner and outer hubs is solid, and it didn't wobble before you took it off, I'd put it back on. Why did you take it off?

Only the '86 solid balancer slides off without a puller (despite how they should come off). Replacements should have the three access holes for the balancer puller bolts. If you did any damage to it in the process of pulling it off it should be replaced.
