Went to change the oil on mom's '06 Lucerne (Series 3)..... 20 minute job (like all the others...) right?? Nope...... the drain plug is up against the tranny pan, so a ratchet is out...... grab the 13mm box wrench..... no problem...right?? Obviously, the idiot who did the last oil change used an impact wrench to put the plug back on....... plug would not come off, and despite best efforts it appears the bolt is beginning to get rounded off-------------- now what? Buy an Ewrin Bolt Out set??

Heat, vice-grips, a hammer, and a new drain plug.

Also a good lead on another oil pan too. If that plug is cross threaded (fights the whole way out, not just breaking loose) you could be in for a bit more fun than you were planning on.

This is why i have trouble trusting the resident pit monkeys at (insert chain name here)

That's the reason I change the oil myself, or the youngest son does it. Only under dire circumstances do I let anyone else change the oil and filter. - BC
