so i got this 97 gt a few days ago with bad lim and uim gaskets, me and my buddy changed the uim and lim gaskets, thermostat, thermostat housing, oil and etc. the problem is it overheats now, it seems like about 5 minutes into idle it hits about 240 or so the fans never kick on unless i unplug the etc then the pop right on. what could this be? also once it has idled for a bit the upper rad hose is very firm, the rad cap usually is pretty cool i can hold my hand on it. should i flush the rad? thanks guys.

Could be air in the system. Did you bleed the system good?

no air in system, i borrowed a temp gun today and checked temp periodically though the day, the t-stat housing never got above 175, the lim never got above 175 and the upper rad hose and lower rad hose stayed about 165 so the car is not overheating. the etc is new so i picked up a new connector for it today i also grabbed everything to flush the rad. im having some other issues but i will start a new topic for that. thanks guys.
