I found this laying on the garage floor where the LeSabre gets parked:

I found it laying on the floor under where the right front suspension would be. It's 3-4" inches across. I called the car's owner to ask if the car felt odd on the ride to work, they said it was okay. But, there's a rusty *something* from the car laying on the garage floor! I can't look at the car until tomorrow. I'm a bit irritated that the car's owner was too stubborn to bring it back home and take my car to work...two X chromosomes and all that. I told them to be careful when driving and pull off immediately if something seems amiss.

So...what is this thing? It's in terrible shape and clearly fell off due to rust. No other cars get parked in the garage, so it has to be from the LeSabre. Thanks for the help!

On a side note...wow! Been a while since I've been at Bonneville club. So long that I was quite surprised when I found the old board gone and my old account gone as well! Good to be back :)

Subframe mount washer. I'd crawl underneath and make sure that all the mounting points are relatively solid. Could be dangerous if only a few of those are actually holding and haven't rusted out.

Think about it. You’re tooling down the road in your Prius, knowing full-well that this thing being green is as big a sham as federally mandated ethanol-enriched gas, Russia pulling out of Ukraine, and Obamacare.

Thanks for the help!

Yeah, this is pretty much the opposite of awesome, if the car's subframe mounts are rotting away :|
