So who here has the record for the fastest BVill? Make it interesting because you know, this generation. Is all about participation.

So who has the fastest BVill period?

Who has the fastest stock Bolt on Bonny?
((Heads cam turbo nitrous trans etc obviously isn't stock or a bolt on. ))

Who has the fastest bone stock SSEI?

This place needs some friendly competition :poke:

Not as many people are modding these as they've used to, the peak of the platform has long died out.

However, with that said... Some people are still at it and doing amazing things. Pat (2003 SSEi) comes to mind immediately. Randy (yourgrandma) has an awesome looking car. Booze has got a cool car also, just got it running again. Hopefully they'll all chime in.

I'm setting my '93 up to be either really fast or blow up trying.

It's parallel twin charged, 6 speed manual, and a bunch of other mods and things done to it to make it unique.
Image

Parallel twin charged means that the supercharger is essentially bypassed once the turbocharger spools. I ran it down the track last year at only 7psi and trapped 97mph with my slow shifting (didn't want to break it the first time out  ). Engine is built for 20psi, custom axles rated for 800hp. Once I get fuel injectors and a tune I can have some real fun.

Obviously I'm the fastest ever. period. :booty2:

Just playin'. There's actually a top 25 list already, though a bit outdated: http://www.rogue-cavern.net/blog/dragtimes/
There's a few cars that come to mind that were never added here though. Randy (yourgrandma) for instance, never went to the dragstrip to post a time. And Kyle (allmachtige) is on the list with his '98 (13th on the list) but his '00 isn't and that was a little quicker if I remember correctly.

I'm 18th, pretty certain that's the quickest time on all stock internals/valvetrain but I was intercooled and GenV swapped at the time. I've gone to 1.9 rockers since then and also now have 3.29 gears and LSD. So I hope to be posting a few tenths quicker time when I return to the track in the coming months.

The quickest car on that list that still exists is probably #5 Pat (2003 SSEi). He went to a cam setup and had gone quicker since then, and is very likely even quicker now with his recent MP112 setup.

There was also a twin charged 1996 that was pulling 11.6 at one point, but it was pulled out of service because head gaskets were not up to the challenge. I don't remember the exact mod list though.

Those times on that list... Must not have been too many people messing with Bonneville's back in the day.

I suppose it makes sense though that you'd have to get right under 14 to be in the top 25. 14.00 is pretty close to the power range where you start to break input shafts and drive chains in the transmission. I could see how only a handful of guys would've gone to that length to make their cars quick.

LOTS of Mods
I believe I'm the Fastest active running car. I went 12.50 @ 108mph with a Tune, GenV IC and 1.9 rockers. It was a true bolt on setup. STOCK cam and heads.

I have added Alum Heads, very large lift cam, and a MP112 Intercooled Supercharger. I don't have numbers as of yet for the new setup

its on a 2.8 pulley and could use more honestly.

It is not a hybrid. its a Magnusen 4th Generation MP112 Blower, the Intercooler is the adapter plate.

Here is the build thread with all the specifics. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=48519&view=next

IMHO, I don't consider rockers "bolt-ons", you're altering the internal workings of the engine. I know in the LS world "Full Bolt ons" is a CAI, Headers, exhaust and a tune. In the 3800 world I'd add a smaller S/C pulley to that, to optimize. I think there are a couple of cars that broke 14.0 in that configuration, if you can do that you're pretty high on the list.

I consider them bolt on if you didn't have to machine anything or change the springs to use them, because that's literally the definition of "bolt on". lol.

You do have to change the springs for the 1.9's. I consider bolt ons not having to "crack into" the engine lol.

I consider bolt-on as the heads and timing cover didn't have to come off to do it.

You do NOT need Springs to run 1.9s.

Depends on the wear of the springs and shift point. To take full advantage you do.
