Here are some photos from the Good Friday show Wheels Day, at the new venue of Dunsfold Aerodrome (where Top Gear is filmed) in Surrey. This traditionally the first big car show of the season and especially popular with enthusiasts of American cars.

A friend of mine when I was in tech school had a Duster IDENTICLE to the 73 pictured. Cool pictures, looks like a lot of fun!!!

Thanks for posting! I like how old LeSabres can enter a car show and get looks across the pond while over here they sit rotting in junkyards.

Overall it seems like you have a lot more cooler cars over there than we do here.

So do I!. That's my '89 Le Sabre in Simons pics.

Simon, did you have trouble getting in and parked?.
It seems a lot of people queued for hours only to be told the show was full and got turned away, I had to queue for ages and just got parked where there was a gap.
Surrey Street Rodders (the organisers) have withdrawn their facebook page due to the flaming comments. I hope they don't decide not to bother next year.

Roger.

I didn't realise that was your car! I also didn't realise it was an '89... I thought it was an '88 - I think the 'E' plate threw me off! :)

I think the car parking marshalling was just really dis-organised, and too slow. A shame as it's a great show. I got there early, about 9am, and drove straight onto the site, but I still had to wait about 25 minutes before I finally got parked up, just because the marshalling was so painfully slow. It was unnessary at that time of the morning - they would have been better off just letting people park themselves until it got too busy. The traffic queues for Wheels Day have always been bad though - the best advice is to get there early!

So much for the new venue offering more space! The Dunsfold site is certainly huge, but the space allocated to the show seemed to be smaller than at the old venue near Aldershot. Go figure.

loved going through these photos, so fun! I think my favorite is the '60 Catalina, I think that's a really cool paint job!

No way! My first car was a '64 Chrysler Newport (no, Dick, I didn't buy it new :ballkick: ). Looked very much like this but it was a 2 door hardtop. Had a 361 ci V8 with a pushbutton transmission and glass-pack dual exhaust. That thing would do 80 mph in first gear (man, I was hard on that car). I wish I still had that car. But, then, I wish I still had the car I replaced it with - a '67 Camaro with a 302.

^ That's actually the first time I've ever seen a '64 Chrysler. The '63-'64s Chryslers seem especially rare. I've seen a few '65s & '66s over the years, and the earlier 'fins and chrome'-era cars, but never a '64. That one was in stunning condition too.

Identical too. :beerchug: LOL.

Looks Good Simon! I'd love to make it over to your side of the pond someday...
